Ok Joni, let's get out there and bring in some good talent. We've got to build this roster with quality and depth. It can be done. Here's hoping!

seems he was content with this, anyone with a brain would have observed the catastrophe of a season we had and assume there was no saving this program. But like soccer, he's just watching it implodeAceswimmer09 said:

what was chaotic about Chavez commitment? Sip fans just whining today about anything and everything and making excuses.taylorswift13_ said:
Yeah the whole commitment process was chaotic
Trev Alberts might be the Nico Harrison & Patrick Dumont of athletic directors (the guys who destroyed the Mavs).Aceswimmer09 said:

Four players entering the portal doesn't constitute a "mass exodus"—that's now the average

He's a fund raiser and accountant in effect. The PlayflySports deal was something he did at Nebraska, too.Ag1188 said:Trev Alberts might be the Nico Harrison & Patrick Dumont of athletic directors (the guys who destroyed the Mavs).Aceswimmer09 said:

Trev is like a dead-fish who doesn't know how to do anything that requires courage. Looking like the worst athletic director in the history of Texas A&M so far. He's a soy/beta or whatever some people call them.
4 leaving with 5 seniors/grad transfers potentially also leaving, and only 7-8 available during the season to play due to constant injuries is a mass exodus for our program. The remarkable stat for us the last few years is how we continue to lose starters (guards mostly). They simply do not like playing for this staff. With those that have entered so far, you could almost tell they had ZERO interest in being on the floor for Joni. There was no fight in them; they gave up in the last half of the conference season.AggieSports said:

I agree with all of this, greg. The question I pose is, why continue funding the WBB at all then? Certainly, from an accountant's perspective, cut your losses (WBB and Soccer) and save money and move on. There is no value in paying a coaching staff over $2 million per year, NIL funds going to athletes, free education/meals/lodging, etc, if we cannot be competitive. We could be like Oklahoma State that does not have a volleyball team because they cannot effectively fund it. While I agree that he has bigger fish to fry, why not just abandon the program and put the funds into MBB, Women's Tennis, Volleyball and men's and women's golf. Football, baseball, and softball will be fine.greg.w.h said:He's a fund raiser and accountant in effect. In all honesty, he has bigger fish to fry than WBB or soccer. If he can't get the internal NIL $20+ million per year funded and a process that passes muster with the third party Deloitte oversight group then our primary funding for our sports…football…could crater.
But the lack of any public comment just means this isn't his biggest fire. But Joni is getting roasted by it. One hopes we have a team at the TMF working contingency plans at least for backfilling the roster.
I'd take a 10 person team with interesting players who are durable and well conditioned. Let's just say this last year was what goes wrong if you don't have the ability to adapt.
