Phenomenal lunch at Bar A yesterday. Brisket and smoked ribeye (at only $28/lb!!) were the highlights. Really loved the sausage too. Sides left a bit to be desired but still good overall. Highly recommend.

What a world we live in, where smoked ribeye somehow costs less than brisket.

Leroy and Lewis gets a nice shout out from Phil Rosenthal:

Nixta and LeRoy & Lewis are my favorites. Those I go back to the most delicious food that I can't find elsewhere. At LeRoy and Lewis, they happen to have one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life, and all their other barbecue is fantastic too.

Has anyone tried the Leroy and Lewis steak night? The site won't show me the next available dates, I just have to guess, which makes it tough to schedule.

Haha I can help! I believe we are booked out thru September, I'll have to double check when we are opening things up for the rest of the year. Those nights get booked pretty quick.

If you're ever willing to share the recipe for the pork belly rib and where to procure that cut of meat, I'd be grateful. Our table split one of those, and it was more than enough.

They put a lot of their recipes on YouTube which is pretty incredible. I haven't been able to try that item but this might be what you're looking for.

Review? Those ribs look a little weathered.

I haven't had the most Carolina's BBQ, but two opinions on the 4-5x:
1. The flavor profile is good - pork-focused, southern sides, tangy sauces
2. The cook was never on par with Texas BBQ

Nothing life changing but solid. The pulled chicken with Alabama white sauce was probably the highlight (as well as the collard greens). And it was cheap. 4 meats with 4 sides was $42.

Went there a few years ago and agree. It was good, not great. We got a little bit of everything, I think the best thing was the chicken wings, everything else was fairly average.

That's wild. But you know, I've always said that if they can charge it and people still line up to pay it, good for them.

I feel real bad for the guys lower down on the list that still have to charge $32+ per lb (just to pay for meat, trim, shrink, and overhead) and they DONT have a line out the door.

It'll be a cold day in hell when I pay $32/LB for pulled pork. Can't believe people do that

Not enough people understand this. Most of these top guys don't want you to buy their brisket. Margins are **** for it. If they could, they'd most likely take it off the menu.

If it wasn't $32 a pound I would. I mean it's not all I'd get but I'd imagine their pulled pork is damn good. For sure brisket, then 2 of 3 between ribs, turkey, and pulled pork.

It's kind of crazy to me that truth still does their 3 meat plate. Plenty of food for my wife and I to split and get to try multiple things.

They only received a Top 50 honorable mention this time, but I had the Mother Clucker at Stanley's Famous Pit BBQ in Tyler last weekend. So simple but so good and possibly my favorite TX BBQ joint sandwich. I add their slaw to it for an upgrayedd.

Went to Slow Bone today. The sides were the star, the meats were just fine. The brusselflower au gratin was incredible.

I honestly thought the brisket was leftover from yesterday and was a little dry.

On a 10 point scale, it'd be a 7, but 5 star, I'd round down to three.

I tried to go to Burndt Bean Thrs afternoon about 1:30 and Sunday morning about 7:30 am. There was at least 75 people in line both days, several with coolers,

I just kept on driving. Must be good.

Dang. They've been on my list for a while now, so I'm regretting not having crossed them off it yet.

Always head into SA and hit up Reese Bros. Outstanding BBQ with hardly any wait.

Stanley's is incredible!! I love them. I know they are known for ribs but their brisket is elite.
