Yes!! I love ordering on my way and it's ready as I pull up. Chris has been crushing it there.

inconvenient truth: Howdy, WOW! I had not idea that there were BBQ wars. I like BBQ, but lately it has become so EXPENSIVE that it is almost not worth it, I know what everyone says about the cost of meat and all, and I do have the $'s, but spending $50-$75 for BBQ lunch or waiting hours in line, just not my thing anymore. Your mileage may vary.

Every family in Lockhart for starters
Is your MIL named Cindy?
Related, this was pretty interesting story on a coupe of those

That is a good documentary. Terry Black's kids do NOT like their uncle. Lol.
I mean, did you like Kent Black after watching that doc?
He just walks around wearing an outfit claiming he's a pit master, he plays a role without actually doing anything.
My MIL used to do accounting for the Black's (they lived in Lockhart for 20 years) and she loves the twins and hates Kent so that tells me all I need to know. That's what I kept thinking everytime I saw him wearing that shirt. He doesn't cook **** and never has.

Checked out corkscrew today. By far cheapest Michelin star restaurant I've been too.
It was good - but not sure it was better than snows.

Brix BBQ in Fort Worth closing August 13
Apparently the owner just wants to move on? If you've had your restaurant for only two years and you're already tapping out, I'm guessing barbecue really isn't your passion.

While we love the BBQ World, we have decided it's time to move on. As the restaurant landscape has changed, so have my passions, family life, career, and what's important to me. I still love to cook and serve others and plan to continue to do that through my private dining concept, Tallow.
Is this the end of Brix Barbecue? I don't know, probably. Though I can tell you it won't be the last time you eat something from me.

Last time I went to Snows (July 2023), we got there about a 4:45 and we were around #50 in line.
There were people who had slept there over night, some in campers & some on the ground.

I think it's so cool that there are folks who are willing to do that. That's not my thing but I can appreciate the anticipation and camaraderie of it all. Cheers. Have fun!

Will never forget my sole trip to Franklin's in 2013. I was graduating from masters program and leaving Austin so I called up AustinAgChef (my cousin) and we both reluctantly went to face the line. What we realized is it a blast if you come prepared. People had card tables out playing dominos, ice chests with beer, chairs, etc. Our dumbasses just showed up and stood for 3 hours. It was really pretty cool. And I can't tell you how their food is now, but back then it was legit and worth the 3 hours!
