Congratulate Travis on getting back for me Mrs. Chestnut! I can say A LOT of us were hoping he could make it back here after the Pavia ruling.

I can't believe it took just me tagging him in my group chat about the Pavia ruling, and him actually seeing it.

Rules are rules and I'm not saying we shouldn't take advantage and play by the same rules as everyone else. However, I can't say I'm much of a fan of what is going on.

When does this arrangement end where guys that will be playing in their 6th year of college ball and are taking opportunities from younger guys? Where there is a winner in these situations, there is also someone taking a loss.

If he can contribute more than younger player, why wouldn't you want him on the team?

We can have 34 players on a roster correct next season of which they will all be fully funded

I think that is what will happen. We should be at about that number even with Chestnut after all players go thru draft process
We have always had a few cuts in the fall and now we may have none even possibility of one or two extra spots still so I don't see a problem here

I don't think that's the point he is making

Don't do that we need production from him

#12 hasn't exactly been on fire that year unfortunately

I addressed your point in my first paragraph that you didn't put in your quote.

And to your point, Travis is likely to be able to add more in years beyond 2026 than some random young player that is a project/investment given Travis' speed element in what would be year's 7, 8, or 9 to play college ball. If the question is just about contributing, college sports just become a permanent league for guys that don't think they can play pro ball and aren't willing to leave college sports. So, is there never a time that we should ask them to leave a spot for another young guy to get those ABs and opportunities?

Somehow, he will still be slightly younger next season than Hayden Schott was this season.

Whaaaat.

That makes me wonder; who is the oldest player we've ever had. Is it Schott? How old is Schott anyway?

On opening day 2025 (February 14th), Hayden was 24 years and 277 days old

On opening day 2026 (February 13th), Travis will be 24 years and 117 days old

Only way I can think of someone being older than Schott was for someone to come from military service or from a different pro sport like Farris did when he came back to QB the football team.

I think Brauny mentioned that he believes #12 will be a thing of the past. I don't think they plan to continue it.

I wouldn't since baseball doesn't mesh with a 12th man well…or even Yell Leaders for that matter…

That's alright. As long as a player can still choose 12 if it's available.

I'll say it. Its been a real mixed bag in terms of wearing #12 and production on the field for that year. Obviously, there's more to the number than just stats, but it certainly hasnt always been a harbinger of good news.

Congrats to Travis on his return.

Why can't they choose the following as their jersey name?

First base Who
Second base What
Third base I Don't Know
Left field Why
Center field Because
Right field (None specified)
Pitcher Tomorrow
Catcher Today
Shortstop I Don't Care or I Don't Give a Darn or I Don't Give a Damn

So, some backstory: I'm in a group chat with around 40 people. We often discuss Aggie sports. In 2024, in Omaha, someone added some baseball players, but they obviously never responded. However, one day, Travis responded during the 2025 season when some people were criticizing the team. After that, he would pop in from time to time. During a game in March, we were discussing how Evan Ashenbeck got screwed over, especially after the Pavia ruling came out. I then remembered that Travis told us he was in DII at St. Edwards. I then tagged him, saying I thought he may technically have another year, and he responded, saying he didn't know. So I did some research and sent it to him. Went to the A&M vs t.u. game with him as he wanted to go, but didn't have a ticket, and I had an extra one. We discussed it further, and since then, he actually got it done. He is the epitome of hard work and a passion for the team. One of the nicest people I've ever met, and I'm delighted I got to meet him and learn a lot about baseball from him.

Good Bull!

Just having him on the team is going to be a positive in the clubhouse. He clearly loves the school, and will play his guts out for his last dance. That's all we can ask.

I somehow hope he'll get a spot as an assistant on the team. I think he'd be really good at it.
