Agreed but it's good to point out the distinction that the FOCUS is on the hardened criminal first and not people simply here illegally. They need to go as well but the priority should be them as it garners more public support.

Also, as long as sanctuary cities exist there will be much more "plain" illegal immigrants sent back if they are consorting with the hardened ones.

Pretty sure this is a way to get "sanctuary" states to cooperate with ICE. Or... lose federal FEMA funding.

I'm sure it's something like that. I support the goal, but not the means. Cut their funding if needed but don't expand the agency's mission. FEMA is already a bloated monster as it is. We don't need to add more to it.

The problem is that the left has gaslit many of the dumb masses into believing that we can't deport the "non-criminal illegals". That's why so many idiots are fighting this and making ICE's job harder.

They're not adding to the grant amount and FEMA isn't doing anything other than auditing and ensuring 10% of the grant money is being used the way dictated. Or am I missing something?

Now if you're arguing that we shouldn't dilute the grants for non-emergency use then that is a different debate.

They'll either dilute the funds for FEMA's actual mission or increase the funding to compensate adding to agency bloat. Either way it isn't good and it's not FEMA's purview.

ETA: This kind of precedent can bite you in the ass. What if the next dem president that gets in office and says FEMA grants are required to include 10% of funding for <insert leftist cause du jour here>? This just a way of getting around the Legislature. Believe me, I want 100% of illegals removed, but this is not the way to do it.
