Has anyone tried any of the various Guatemalan food trucks in town?
Hey, now. You can't say something like that after all this talk about food poisoning.FlyRod said:

It seems as though CJ bbq has changed sausage vendors. Not the same great jalapeƱo cheddar tonight. Had the regular as well. Not good
Several restaurants in town have recently changed who they are buying their meats/proteins from.

I'll ask what we're all thinking.
Why?

Went to La Bodega twice this week (I think I'd only been 2 or 3 times previously not counting the NG location back in my college days) and every time it's been great.
May have been discussed already but evidently the Thursday lunch special is buy one 2 taco plate get one 2 taco plate free which was news to us. And they let you mix up any two tacos from the menu on each plate. Each came with rice and beans and the total bill was 17 bucks. And it was all delicious. Talk about a great deal.
One of these days I'll get back around to the strawberry tart.
ETA: Had the steak burrito up there on Cinco de Mayo. Also a home run.

I'd like to give a shout out for Maria Mia's. Yesterday was graduation and my sister, like the good Grandma, called a month ago and made reservations. She called earlier this week just to make sure they had her reservation which they did. Well, all 15 of us show up and they now they can't find our reservation. After 15 minutes of calling the manager over, etc, they eventually got us seated.
Then the young man who was assigned to our table did an excellent job of taking care of us. We were in and out in under and hour and a half. I wish I had gotten his name.

Los Cucos red salsa...is it similar to Los Nortenos salsa?
I had it for the first time tonight and it sure seems similar.
I didn't have a hangover so I'm not in the Los Nortenos mode I was 20-30 years ago.

The salsa I got tonight was warm. It was to-go though. Can't tell if the food warmed it up or not on the way home . It was great though. Certainly not chunky though.

We can't have a warm salsa conversation without a shout out to Hermanos Marquez (formerly Mi Pueblito).
