Has anyone tried any of the various Guatemalan food trucks in town?

Hey, now. You can't say something like that after all this talk about food poisoning.

Not sure what makes it so hard to access? Are you new to driving?

It seems as though CJ bbq has changed sausage vendors. Not the same great jalapeño cheddar tonight. Had the regular as well. Not good

Several restaurants in town have recently changed who they are buying their meats/proteins from.

I'll ask what we're all thinking.

Why?

Medians. The answer is always medians.

I have never seen a city screw up their traffic patterns so badly and unnecessarily by adding medians as much as College Station has. Since leaving in 2019 every time I go back it seems to get exponentially worse.

Because of the Ruffino ownership changes last year and the pending Readfield ownership changes would be my guess.

They've served Readfield's jalapeno cheese as long as I remember.

Went to La Bodega twice this week (I think I'd only been 2 or 3 times previously not counting the NG location back in my college days) and every time it's been great.

May have been discussed already but evidently the Thursday lunch special is buy one 2 taco plate get one 2 taco plate free which was news to us. And they let you mix up any two tacos from the menu on each plate. Each came with rice and beans and the total bill was 17 bucks. And it was all delicious. Talk about a great deal.

One of these days I'll get back around to the strawberry tart.

ETA: Had the steak burrito up there on Cinco de Mayo. Also a home run.

Thanks so much for your business! Really appreciate the feedback as well. We've worked hard to launch a new menu along with a ton of facility upgrades. We're really hoping the outdoor Jumbotron and TVs along the patio border will be a great place to enjoy Aggie events as well!

Every time I have been I've sat at the bar but the patio looked like a fun scene for sure on Cinco de Mayo. Great bartending service every time as well. That was also the first time I realized there was a Burger Mojo attached to the back with a drive thru.

Was that there since the space opened and I just never noticed it?

It's more recent.

It's been a few months, and it's actually a Burger Mojo Jr., so it has the jr sized burgers at ridiculously low prices.

We figured since the overhead of the space is fixed and paid for by Bodega, we wanted the drive thru amenity to be good for on the go families. We also have the chicken nugz and shakes for the kids.

I'd like to give a shout out for Maria Mia's. Yesterday was graduation and my sister, like the good Grandma, called a month ago and made reservations. She called earlier this week just to make sure they had her reservation which they did. Well, all 15 of us show up and they now they can't find our reservation. After 15 minutes of calling the manager over, etc, they eventually got us seated.

Then the young man who was assigned to our table did an excellent job of taking care of us. We were in and out in under and hour and a half. I wish I had gotten his name.

Los Cucos red salsa...is it similar to Los Nortenos salsa?
I had it for the first time tonight and it sure seems similar.
I didn't have a hangover so I'm not in the Los Nortenos mode I was 20-30 years ago.
I hope I did not offend anybody with this post. If I did, please come see me at my address in my profile so we can talk.

I must admit that I haven't been to Los Cucos in quite a while. They stopped offering mole, so I have had no reason to return.

Having been a Los Nortenos regular for many years, I don't remember their salsa being similar to Los Cucos at all. I remember Los Nortenos' salsa was warm with lots of chunky onion and tomato. If Los Cucos has changed their recipe, it might be a reason to visit them again.

That's exactly how Los Nortenas salsa was back in the day. Loved that it was served warm.

The salsa I got tonight was warm. It was to-go though. Can't tell if the food warmed it up or not on the way home . It was great though. Certainly not chunky though.

If it wasn't chunky, then it's not comparable to Los Nortenos. I fondly remember scooping up those onions and tomato chunks to put on my Migas tacos. RIP.

Pretty sure Los Cucos salsa was warm when we went awhile back. First time we had been in years. And I see no reason we will ever got back. I dunno, we werent a fan of the food.

Yes, the red salsa at Los Cucos is served warm. I think it's similar to Los Nortenos, but not exactly the same.

We go to the Bryan Los Cucos on occasion - they have some good dishes and recently remodeled the bar area.
