If you can get him to sign a 1+1, I'd be totally fine. He's been our best midfielder this year. Transition him to the Jorginho role as a new DM (presumably Zubimendi) adapts to the league
If you assume the 3 below us in the table (City, Forest & Newcastle) win out, Forest would have the highest point total at 75. So we currently need 9 pts out of the last 4 games to guarantee 2nd. 8 pts and Forest not not being able to outscore us by 20 would still get the job done. Our last 4 are Bournemouth (H), Pool (A), Newcastle (H), Southampton (A). Southampton should be a gimme. Bournemouth should be a tough win. Pool & Newcastle will be tough but if we can win one or figure out how to tie both we should be good.wangus12 said:
Welp 3rd is back on the menu. If we find a way to finish behind City again....
Agreed. Like I said, he's an insurance policy for Zubi (or whoever we sign). If you get a 1+1 and the new DM does well next season, just don't pick up the option and go snag a young DM summer '26.wangus12 said:

Arsenal are acting internally as if the [Zubimendi] deal is a done deal. Arsenal are in the race for Dean Huijsen

At least we didn't lose.
And in the most important news of the day, Ornstein says Arsenal wants to keep Partey. It's gonna get ugly.

Feels right and aligns with the million draws we've had this seasonwangus12 said:
Have to be absolutely clinical tomorrow + no stupid mistakes. I feel like a lot of our dropped games this entire season has been down to our own mistakes rather than teams straight up beating us.
That and terrible ref decisions. Saw a compilation the other day that showed 6 games games that we ended dropping 12 pts from a winning position due to a poor/controversial ref decision (4 reds + 2 PKs).wangus12 said:

Question: Arsenal are very strong at home. They haven't lost a single CL home game. What makes Arsenal so strong at the Emirates and how can you make them doubt themselves?
Enrique: "Those are positive stats for them, but you have to look at who they played against"
Real Madrid and PSG obviously don't count...wangus12 said:

We played against PSG you jackass. Hope we have another great showing and punch them in the mouth. I do think this is going to be a much tougher match this go round, especially without Partey

Hey, that was impressive how he didn't dribble it over the line for a goal kick.AggieRob93 said:
Marti with a great run on a great feed from MLS, but he again is unable to punch it in. My biggest gripe with Marti is with all the speed and change of pace he brings, his ball control in final third and finishing continue to be suspect.

Not sure if off or not hard to figure out which body he was.
