Plus a decent chunk of cash I would imagine. If that's true. I would do that deal but I do like having Kiwior as a backup on the two left sided positions (LCB and LB). I think Mosquera is being brought in to kind of play that role on the right side.

Fab says we are keeping an eye on Xavi Simons. No talks yet just monitoring. Maybe a backup plan to Palace wanting too much for Eze? I know Xavi would likely be more but he is also younger, has more upside and more experience playing on the wing.

Sporting are making things complicated. We upped the fixed fee a few days back in order to move the deal and then Sporting started getting nitpicky over the terms of the add-ons. They are trying to ensure that the add-ons are damned near guaranteed. Gone quite for a couple days. Not sure where it's at. Hopefully he can fly in for the Asian tour even if it's a little late.

I dont see us paying the 120m pricetag. Supposedly he's talking to Saudi. From what I've read, the stalls with Gyokeres are 100% on Sporting trying to squeeze every last drop they can out of us.

Finally seeing some claims on the the hold up with Gyokeres. Current offer is 63.5 + 10. The +10 Sporting is supposedly asking for 2.5m for 20, 40 & 60 appearances from Gyokeres + 2.5 if Arsenal qualify for CL. So basically 73.5m with some delay in certain portions of payment. Arsenal also asking for 4 installments and Sporting requesting an additional 1.2 to accommodate installments.

I would probably still prefer Eberchi Eze to Xavi Simons, even though Simons is younger and probably a little cheaper. I have been big on Simons for several years now, going back to his time with PSV. But I am worried he has not quite been able to make the next developmental leap in Germany.

But I will not be upset if we get Simons. The worst case with him is he's a pretty decent player we sell to a mid-level Premier League team in 2 or 3 years and get some of the fees back. Best case is he does take the next step and he's a potential starter for the next 6 years.

As I see it, Eze is who he is. He could perform a bit better for us with better players around him but he is 27 and is unlikely to a) get much better, b) ever earn us a profit on the transfer fee and c) ever earn a starting role (not a natural W and not gonna beat Rice/MO).

While Simons is a bit of an unknown (never played in EPL) he is young, has tons of potential, has shown ability in multiple leagues & Euro tourney's and is a more natural W. With him you would be getting someone that could get significantly better, could earn you a profit on his fee and could earn a starting role in the future (possible at W this season). It's a gamble because he has never played in the EPL but it's a gamble I would personally take.

How do the new kits look like in-person?

Watts says that everything won't be wrapped up in time for Gyokeres to play against Milan but they have been planning to get him to Hong Kong in time to play against spuds on 7/31.

Blue looks solid. The collar is a bit odd looking in person. I'm not a fan of the red kit up close. The background A's all over it stands out quite a bit to me.

I ended up getting other some golf polos and rain gain. I have a quite a few jerseys and really not a fan of this season's output.

So the next question...... given the current available, what number does Gyokeres pick?

3, 5, 10, 14, 18, 25, 26, 27, 30s/40s

I think we try to sell Zinchenko, Trossard, Nelson, and Vieira. Then you're looking at Martinelli/Eze or Rodrygo at LW, which I think would be a deal done as the window closes. We'll see if Berta can sell, that's always been something at which we've been subpar.

If we can get an elite LW this window, it's kind of hard to imagine what we try to do next summer as far as incomings go. I'm sure we will try to sell Jesus. But it seems everyone likes being at Arsenal and I don't see anyone trying to leave (of course you never know a year from now).

Maybe we try to sell Havertz and just go big on Isaak to go with Gyokeres. But I can't see a lot of players coming in. Maybe just see if you can get an elite player somewhere.
