Glasner is trying his absolute best to keep Guehi lol. Idk why you would let him leave for free being Palace but oh well.

It can't be under stated how important this signing is. I personally think he might be the best all around striker in the world, but also from a body perspective. We needed another legit body and got one of the best.

Also, I'm happy he's getting called up for Sweden. Will hopefully shorten the ramp up period for him. I don't think he'll start for a while, but maybe by the end of September.

Elliott to Villa on a loan and obligation to buy at 35million. I know we all like Elliott but he was just never going to play enough here. He's just not a big and strong enough lad i think to be a full time starter at Liverpool.

Sad to see Harvey go but I get it. Hope he tears it up the rest of his career.

Pour one out for the 24-25 Liverpool squad. That makes 8 players no longer with the club.

Not complaining, there was a need for some youth and talent. Still sad to see them all go, they were exceptional teammates.

If this is the squad going into this year I think I'm content with it.

Plus Joe Gomez has signed a contract extension until 2027. All things going Liverpool's way today

Incredible couple days. Definitely sad to see a lot of that special 24/25 team gone but was needed as well. Elliott was never going to see the field now (didn't already) and Slot clearly didn't rate him.

Very curious on the team dynamics going forward. Adding Isac moves Ekitike out or to the left? He needs playing time and development. Gakpo off the bench? Rio needs to see the field too...guessing that will only be as necessary or on rotation days with the FA and Carabao Cup. One of Wirtz, Grav, Szo, or Mac is coming off the bench. Moving on from Konate with Guehi and Gomez here?

Obviously this a great problem to have, and there will be injuries and rotations needed as we showed last year. Throw in Salah out for 10 games with the Afican Cup, there will be plenty of playing time too. So many options to move around players obviously and we needed Isac (or some high end addition up front) and overall quality depth, but these caliber of players want to start and in their preferred spots. Be interesting to see this play out going forward.

Palace may be dragging their feet. They had a loan deal for a defender fall through. Not like they haven't had months to prepare for this.

We need to tie down Konate to a long term deal. Just pay the man. Guehi and Konate at CB would be a hell of a pairing for years.

I think my biggest questions coming out of this summer are what they are going to do with Konate and Ekitike. Are we seriously going to let another player go free.99 next summer? I don't think it's a huge deal but also not a great look.

And with Ekitike; he's gotta be pissed off today. You're an 80+ million pound player and you just got moved the No. 9 spot. So do we push him to the left? The bench? Do we tinker with a 4-4-2? Idk?

Guehi deal collapsed! What a piss in the wind for Palace. Apparently Igor wants to go to West Ham instead and then they didn't want to go through with Guehi without a replacement. The just lost 35 million because of pure incompetence. How to mismanage a transaction 101 folks.

Wish we got him now but will just get him for less in Jan or for free next summer.

Agree. I think Guehi, while I love him and think he's awesome, is more of just a Cherry on top type of piece. I think we NEEDED Isak. We don't NEED Guehi, but he would be awesome to have, and we'll get him half price in January or for free next summer.

Sounds like Glasner killed it.

Moral of the story, players can and should look after themselves first, because these coaches and clubs do not care about you.

I'd expect there to be some pretty pissed off individuals around this situation now. Glasner is a **** too.

Now we know Konate is still our guy for the time being hahah. I'm fine with it honestly. Ekitike is one I just have no clue about.

Our roster turnover was pretty insane this year. People will talk how we purchased two players for almost 250 million, but they won't talk about just how many players we jettisoned as well. I really don't think FSG spends that much money without also recouping a ton of money from player sales, and I don't blame them. It was probably time for some pretty significant roster turnover.

I think it will work out just fine for Hugo. Isak will be available after the break, but you can't start him right away. For the first 3 weeks you can expect Isak to come off the bench while he gets up to speed. He has stayed fit and may even play for Sweden, but playing at max EPL effort requires real training. I also don't think Slot likes overusing a player if they haven't trained enough with the squad. I imagine he will have to slowly ramp up what he can give the team. After which, we can expect a healthy rotation on the front line with Gakpo, Hugo and Isak all getting rests/sub appearances. Then in december, Mo will disappear for a month (after which he will also need a rest). There are minutes for everyone and a bunch of different formations we can try throughout the year. Ideally Hugo and Isak will develop a strong relationship, because we are betting on their synergy in the post Mo-era.

If Szobo exclusively and regularly played right back he would probably be one of the best in the game. He is probably as good or better than Trent in every possible way. His range of passing and crossing is equivalent to Trents, his ability to play as a tucked in midfielder is better and his overall defensive activity is much more consistent.

Playing him there is obviously a great misuse of his abilities, but with our glut of talent it might happen quite often.

It will be interesting to see who Slot prefers in the biggest moments when everyone is healthy.

Dom is an absolute animal at RB. His work rate and ability to track back are incredible. We know he obviously doesn't prefer to play there, but he's a clear upgrade on Bradley until Frimpong is fit.

Isak and Ekitike will be fine. This is LFC planning for the post-Mo era. Isak is the guy they wanted full stop it just happened to be in the same window as Ekitike. I think they typically would have waited, but Isak was their guy and they were willing to pay now. Good "problems" to have.

I really like Bradley tbh. He's very responsible defensively and can get up and down the wing well. His issue is that he's literally made from glass and the moment he decides to hit the accelerator one of his calves or hammies blows out. I do have questions about how we're going to handle RB when Frimpong returns, though. I think Slot is going to have to reign him in a bit like he's done with Kerkez to make sure that he doesn't blow another hammie. The more you burst forward like he does the more opportunity you present for a muscle injury.

This maybe sacrilege to say, but if this is the version of Dom we're going to get, I would move Maca to the bench. I absolutely him and the way he plays the game, but Dom is a 6'1" work horse and just does things that Maca cannot. Now, Dom would still need to be able to carry the ball and pick passes from the midfield (which Maca does consistently well when he's right) without giving it up, but if we're going to get this version of him, he's an absolute word class No. 8 who would bring a different dimension to the midfield.
