I feel like we're at a point in time where we can simply assume that Messi, even though he seldom seems to run anymore, will invariably be standing right where he needs to be to score.

I seem to recall that the US gave up that exact goal like 3 times last WC.
Opponent realized the defense would overcommit when they drove down the wing and could simply hit an open trailing runner near the penalty spot

So just for the sake argument, and to state that I do not know exactly what the rule reads about covering your mouth, but I did in fact, seeing an Argentine player covering his mouth and talking, albeit to his own teammates after the goal. So is it don't cover your mouth just a rule in mixed company or is there zero tolerance during the whole game?

I can cover my mouth and call my teammate an absolutely ******* ***** of ***** that is a disappointment to his whole ******** family and country, and that he should ***** himself before he ***** and does anything like that ever again.

I cannot, however, cover my mouth and call an opponent a jerk.
