I thought they were when there was a goal in the other game but there have been too many.

I think it has to do with a previous play being under a VAR review. They notify the crowd and then chime again after the review is complete.

From what I gather, they sound for a score update when the goal is scored, and then again a couple minutes later when the highlight is shown at the stadium. So basically anytime an update (score or highlight) from the other game is shown.

If you genuinely can't tell with the naked eye on a freeze frame that a player was off, just let it go.

This is now how the rule was intended to be called.

100% agree, lets get back to trusting the ref/linesman to understand the game as well as the rules.
Save VAR for things like if the ball fully crosses the line, or missing obvious hand balls (or even obvous fouls/simulation).

The Columbia vs Portugal game ended in a stalemate. Consequently, Columbia won Group K.

Colombia finish first in the group. Portugal and Ronaldo finish 2nd. DR Congo fight back and finish 3rd and top of the 3rd place table. Uzkbekistan finish 4th and have been one of my favorite lower teams to watch
