This is the official thread for Group K. Group K contains Portugal, DR Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia.
Portugal comes into the World Cup as the most likely team to win that hasn't won before in my opinion. While everyone still looks to 41 y/o talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, the level of player across the team is definitely up there with the top in the world. Their midfield is insane with Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha, Bernardo Silva and Joao Neves. As long as Ronaldo's ego doesn't explode, they're gonna make a deep run. DR Congo returns to the world stage for the first time in 52 years. They were known as Zaire back in 1974. It took an ET winner against Jamaica in the IC playoffs to get here. Uzbekistan are the fourth and final newcomer to this years World Cup. They are 1st central Asian country to ever qualify, although they were technically part of the Soviet Union during those tournaments. Colombia return after missing out in 2022. They are still led by James Rodriguez who set Brazil 2014 aflame with some wild goals and winning the Golden Boot.

Colombia finish first in the group. Portugal and Ronaldo finish 2nd. DR Congo fight back and finish 3rd and top of the 3rd place table. Uzkbekistan finish 4th and have been one of my favorite lower teams to watch
