Aside from that, all he really needs to do is to watch tape of ManU from January on. Hes playing the world's best CAM as a CDM.
Probably also needs to tell Portugal to stop falling over at the slightest touch. The ref yesterday was very generous to their antics and gave several soft fouls that stopped Congo opportunities.

First, want to be clear that I am in no way denigrating Mexicans, the vast majority in their country are amazing and welcoming people...but I chuckled the other day when the owner of a Paletas/Ice Cream store near us was bragging about how welcoming and hospitable the Mexican people are compared to USA, after I asked him if he has seen the videos of South Koreans and Mexicans partying together.
I just bit my lip and didn't have the heart to tell him that I have been two two games featuring Mexico before and I saw more beer, trash, and dangerous objects hurled through the air than I ever have anywhere else. To be honest, there was nothing friendly about their fans. Then again, this was here in the states, maybe they would be much more "welcoming" at home. I have heard nightmare stories about Azteca though.

Like I said the other day, La Marseillaise is easily the best national anthem. There's a reason the melody was quoted by the likes of Schumann, Tchaikovsky, and many others.
To be fair when you have it sung acapella it is not great. When you have a orchestra recording that fans sing to it is much better. Live singers really do not do a good job and often just butcher it.
There's a big difference between "people" and "fans" for many teams/cities/countries.

I tend to agree, but I also think that negative fan culture shines a light on the negative aspects of a society/culture⦠whether that's guys in uniform chasing people off a football field with sabers drawn or people throwing tortillas/piss bottles/etc⦠the activities of an extreme sub-group are tolerated or maybe even praised by the average fanbase because deep down, their activity reflects what the normal people wish they would/could do.fig96 said:

CR7 is not asked to make as many long runs or depended upon as much in hold up play further back on the pitch as some forwards are. Just move around the penalty area and be ready to strike and finish with any surface either facing towards or away from the goal. Portugal's style and lack of playing directly just led to few opportunities for CR7--- unlike how Norway intentionally goes through Erling.
I think if I'm Portugal's manager, I'm talking to those world class midfielders in Bruno, Bernardo, Neves, Vitinha to play more direct and look to break lines quicker by combining on give & goes and through balls. Stop all the negative passes to recycle through the 6, CBs, or GK- and keep possession just to posses without purpose. ...and I start Leao on the left wing. At some point though, they may need to consider starting Gancalo Ramos over CR7 in the center.

But regarding CR7, I think last WC was the time to merely consider Ramos instead⦠it should've been an absolute this time. They should've been planning for that from the get go. It's beyond time for them to move on.
