Bring in women's gymnastics for WBB; there will be little to no expectations to win right away. There are ways around it. As badly as the staff is being talked about on social media (especially X), this is not going away and will continue to fester as it appears she will do just as poorly next season (purely speculation based on what we have left on the roster).

But - I think Bjork thought Joni was a homerun hire for some reason. He had an entire year to field interest in the program and this is what he came up with. The reality is, though, I think we can blame his cohort and assistant AD on this one.

I find it hard to believe he doesn't move on her soon, though, regardless of the beans he's counting. They hired a homerun for Volleyball it seems; same for softball. This was just a big swing and miss and I can't imagine he allows this to go on much longer than another season.

An interesting consideration is what is NIL requirement for volleyball v. softball. And where does wbb then fit? Might help clarify.

Also the House settlement is based solely on anti-trust law and doesn't factor in Title IX. So it will be interesting what happens next. I would sit it out myself and wait and see.

I'm curious as to why you'd have to pay a buyout if someone is fired for lack of production, growth, development? I'm sure severance packages are offered to move on. Contracts mean nothing anymore.

This is what the fights about: In the context of the NCAA settlement, a revenue-sharing agreement allows schools to share a portion of their athletic revenue (up to 22% of media, ticket, and sponsorship revenue) with student-athletes, with a cap of around $20-$22 million per school annually, starting in the 2025-26 academic year.

(Now this money ($22MIL) comes directly out of the schools pocket where it use to ride the income side of the ledger now it rides the expense side of the ledger and the school is cutting corners, expenses etc to cover the hole.
