2 games with 10+ steals

But I wonder if her game can translate to the SEC being only 5'3. She's not a good 3 point shooter so looks like she scores mid range and/or in the paint

I sure hope she can help out and be the ball handler/distributer that is much needed!

Sacred Heart won 9 games last year. They were 5-15 in conference.

Pryor, the incoming senior, had a storied career at Sacred Heart. The 5-3 guard led the Pioneers to two NCAA Tournament berths (2023, 2024) and was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Year during her freshman and sophomore campaigns and the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year this past season.

The Aggie posted 19.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and a D1 best 4.1 steals per game last season. She also logged 33.3 minutes per outing for the Pios while shooting 43.9% from the field. She had five-or-more steals on 11 occasions during the 2024-25 campaign, including a school record 11 swipes against Manhattan in the MAAC Tournament that capped off her second career triple double where she added 24 points and 10 rebounds with six assists.

The Baltimore, Maryland, native averaged 18.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.7 steals during her 96-game career at SHU. Pryor is the active leader in career steals in the country with 357 and is the only active player with 300+ steals in less than 100 games played. Pryor is also approaching the 2,000-point career mark with 1,790 during her three collegiate seasons.

In her three career NCAA Tournament games, Pryor averaged 11.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.0 steals. She went 1-2 in those games with a First Four victory over Southern during the 2023 Big Dance.

Pryor joins Fatmata Janneh and Lemyah Hylton as players to join the Aggies during this offseason.

I mean, she has two quality pieces, still to be seen if they can actually compete in the SEC. I am super worried, but at least we will have warm bodies this time. Last year we couldn't even field a team. So maybe it actually is improvement? Quantity over quality lol

One can they compete in the SEC and two will they all be able to work together and fight hard for Joni. There's a reason nobody wants to keep on playing for her. And we're still 2 girls short of last years roster. Last year we had 11, we're gonna need at least 13 or 14. Or why not 15 like most teams. Can we stay healthy is the main question. Injuries are a problem under this strength and conditioning staff. But it seems no changes were made on that front. So we're at 9 girls… we need to add 4-6 more

If we wanna win a few SEC games or 10 games total for that matter, it all comes down to if Pryor or Janneh's game can translate to the SEC. A very limited sample size, but against power 5 competition (big East included) Pryor averaged 9.8 and Janneh averaged 6.3. They both averaged more than 16 attempts per game. The most anyone averaged for us this past year was 8. I'm concerned about Pryor's size and inability to shoot the 3. Not sure what our offensive strategy was this past year but we'll see how Joni works this lineup.
