Couldn't help myself and checked on the Ohio-State-MD game this morning. Found this observation (from the "comments" in the link below) on the comparative metrics of Villanova (where their prior coach Kevin Willard landed), A&M, and MD interesting. The natives are restless.

Any position once removed from Buzz is killing it. And for some odd reason, identically killing it. Nova and A&M are basically the same team.

This is the big difference between his situation here and at Maryland.

It's hard to sit through Buzz's bits and speeches when you're last coach took you the Sweet 16 and a second place league finish LAST YEAR.

At least we were coming off of a crappy year.

Yes, agreed. I grew up with ACC basketball, going back to the Lefty Driesell, Tom McMillen, and Lenny Elmore days at Maryland and on to Len Bias, Gary Williams, and their 2002 national championship. Independent of the pros and cons of their move to the Big 10 and recent hard times, Maryland fans think of themselves as a basketball school. They will not be as patient with hoops as they have been in football.
