So assuming all the guys in the top 10 rounds go and all of the guys with eligibility remaining and not yet drafted make it to campus next year (dangerous assumptions I know):

How do you feel about:
1) Kiel RF
2) Sorrell LF
3) Grahovac 3B
4) Havopian SS
5) Latta 1B
6) Duer CF
7) Harrison C
8) Binderup DH
9) Royo 2B

Bench:
Farr, Partida, Billings, Bullard, Kellner, Boughton

Pitching
Sdao - Friday
Moss - Saturday
Carson Bailey - Sunday
Freshcorn - Tuesday

Bullpen
David Ramirez, Chase Bentley, Michael Bollinger

I know this isn't supposed to be a comprehensive list of everyone who will contribute next season, but I expect to see Josh Stewart, Gavin Lyons, and Caden McCoy pitch against SEC competition in some role next year. I'm also hopeful that one or more of our other incoming transfer pitchers can be counted on against SEC teams. The most likely candidates look to be MJ Bollinger, Juan Vargas, or maybe Ethan Darden.

On the offensive side, the top third of our order should be at least on par with the top lineups in the SEC. I also think between returners, incoming transfers, and freshman who are ready to contribute right away, we will have pretty good depth. What we need is ~3 guys who can reliably hit in the middle of the order. Last year the middle of our order was mostly guys who should have been hitting in the bottom third (injuries to Sorrell and Grahovac was a big reason why).

I think Partida makes an impact at SS or 2B!! He's also a good arm to have in the pen if needed. He's topping out at 98mph !! That's too much talent to be on the bench!

Yep. When the Astros passed on him at 21, I knew he wasn't passing the MLB "eye test". He still has the potential to have a great career, but it is going to take some work to get the 2025 season out of his head.

With every passing day, I realize more and more what an unmitigated disaster the 2025 Aggie baseball season was. I can't believe we're going to run it back in 2026. I get a pit in my stomach just thinking about it.

I think we will be good next year. Arguably the best RF in college baseball. Third will be strong. Bear is a good catcher with power. TK will be strong in CF. Nail down SS and second and add a little more pitching.

There is not going to be any more pitching to add. What we have now is what we will have next year.

Hard to say what will happen with these 11th/12th round guys, but I would assume most sign. It's not as definitive as top 10 round selections, but usually organizations figure out whatever bonus pool they have left over and select guys they think they can sign with these selections.

No way Partida is on the bench and Binderup is DH. Ain't happening. Partida will be an impact player immediately. Probably both at the plate and on the bump.

Recruit Chase Bentley selected in the 19th round by Milwaukee. Brauny thinks there's a good chance he didn't sign. Some of these really late picks are sometimes fliers by teams to treat the waters.

I think we'll be improved on fielding defense, especially the infield. The lineup (or potential lineup) actually looks pretty good - I think we'll improve here. too. The question mark is pitching, starting pitching in particular.

Scott Pennington should be able to evaluate the infielders and decide who is best at SS, 2nd, and 1st. Also teach situational awareness, plus his coaching 3rd base should help.

One thing Childress did was to get everyone in very good physical condition. See the book by Heath Clary, beginning on page 76. All players had to run a mile under six minutes or get up and run at 5:30 AM until they did. In addition, the pitchers had a Boot Camp involving difficult physical activities.

Agreed, Partida absolutely dominated TX 6A baseball the past 3 seasons. I watched him shut down Katy in the regional final in 2023. Had no idea he was only a sophomore.

You mean besides Sdao, Moss, Bailey, Lyons, McCoy, Stewart, Freshcorn, Partida, Billings, Brasseux, Bollinger, Ramirez, and some other names I can't think of right now?

I don't know why y'all are so concerned with our pitching. With Sdao back and only losing Slawinski of incoming freshmen we sit in a pretty damn good place.

We have Sdao, Moss and Carson Bailey as probable weekend starters. Lyons, McCoy and Ethan Darden can compete for a starting role as well.

Out of the bullpen we have Stewart, Freshcorn, Bollinger, Cunningham (if he plays like his sophomore year at UW), and Vargas as experienced guys. We also have Sims, Brassauex and incoming freshmen/JUCO guys capable of coming in and making a name for themselves.

Because you can never have enough high level pitchers.

Half of the guys won't pan out. Two or three will get hurt. Two or three will be frustratingly inconsistant.

While I agree we need more pitching, let's not act like we're completely out of arms. I would be completely comfortable with Sdao and Moss being expected to be weekend guys next year. I expect Stewart and Freshcorn to be late inning guys. I think the Clemson pitcher will be at worst a middle reliever and at best the Sunday guy (if we're counting on it, I'm not optimistic). Then I would expect 1-2 of Lyons, McCoy and Sims to take a step forward and pitch meaningful SEC innings. Pitchers have lots of variability and injury risk so I think ideally you find at least 1-2 pitchers you expect to compete for weekend rotation spots and another reliever, but I think we're okay where we are(not great, but serviceable if everyone stays healthy).

I won't count on Freshman to pitch meaningful innings, but hopefully they can get you through most midweeks. If you can find one to give you SEC innings that is a bonus.

I'm not going to complain if we get another guy, but it really isn't a massive need anymore. Our pitching going into the season is in a pretty damn solid place.

Partida throws 97 - he's going to get out there to see what he can do.

Just reading that makes me go yikes with our pitching next season. 2 Guys coming back from injury in your top 4. Taking our best bullpen arm and making him a starter.

Sdao is in a similar boat that Prager was in having missing a full season due to Tommy John surgery before coming back and being our Friday ace on our run to Omaha.

Moss also was pushing to be a starter last year, but Patton just edged him out in the preseason. Its a reasonable progression for Moss to become a weekend starter. In my opinion, we have the best bullpen depth entering the season as we have seen in awhile.

Looks like we've got a weekend rotation back! That'll be nice… just need to fill out the pen and find a solid Tuesday starter that could sneak into a rotation spot

There's a lot of "hope" in this pitching rotation and no sure ace or closer. I'm interested in a return to Omaha, and I saw a lot of power arms in this year's CWS. Don't lose early-season games again trying to figure it out.

Brauny has mentioned this morning that Latta has reached a deal to sign as an undrafted free agent with the Blue Jays.

Also mentioned that Boughton has not yet agreed to a deal and Bentley also remains unsigned. He got confirmation from Erickson and Duer that they will be Aggies this fall. Royo is also likely to return.

Moss being a starter vs bullpen I don't think is as easy a decision as you make it. Just too much history specifically on the Ags the past few seasons where having very reliable bullpen pitchers were key in winning games.

It costs us several games early this past season when that was not established. We would start next season with a solid guy in the pen if Moss was not moved from there.
