Back when we were in the NL, Cubs fans always turned out in high numbers when they came to town. Between all the midwest transplants and the Cubs being one of the few teams to have games on a national "superstation" in an era when your local team wasn't even guaranteed to be on tv, they just have a large national fan base. Is what it is.

Back in my 20s I went to a lot of games and one of my favorite memories was getting my entire section to boo a mouthy cubs fan. Pretty much second only to getting president bush to give me a wave and thumbs up from one section over.

Why wouldn't Brown have the win. He pitched 6, was ahead when he left and we never gave up the lead. It's not discretionary.

Astros on a pretty good rip lately. On pace for 98 wins and have the third best record in the league. Just keeping up with a thread or two on texags, I didn't think they were supposed to be performing at this level this year. My kids are super into it since I told them we were going to a game so I've been keeping tabs a little bit more closely lately.

It was a hell of a night for Astros last night.

1. Whitcomb - 1st home run
2. Altuve tied and then passed Bagwell for number 2 all time Astros career hits
3. Brown recorded his 500th K.
