Or you could use WAR and see how far behind he is as an overall player. Nobody in baseball ranks Paredes over any of the guys on that list. But like I've said twice, the guy is having a great season and it was a smart trade by Dana. $6 million for that guy vs. $40 million for Bregman. No brainer.

You obviously haven't watched the Rangers this year. If the Astros can't get runners home from third either, this may go 20 innings.

Don't think I'd say phonies. They have probably had more injuries of any team in MLB. I think they've had like 7 starting pitchers go down and miss time. I saw a crazy stat yesterday. They have had 22 different pitchers win games this year. That's nuts.

But I will agree that they suck at hitting and will likely get passed by both the rangers and the mariners.

As a die-hard Astro fan, I currently am of the mindset that the Astros are never going to win another game and the Rangers are taking this division. And if you put both teams together into one "super team" that team would lose 100 straight games to the Brewers.

Yeah we are somehow in first and Framber is a walking gas can who whines and throws at his own catcher.

If either of our teams were in other divisions we'd be toast

Y'all are still relatively new to the AL worst, but for most of my baseball watching life, it seems like the AL worst was a dog **** of a division. Since realignment in the mid 90s the west has 3 WS? And maybe only 6 pennants?

If I were to go back and look at historical division strengths, what metric would you use? Record against teams not in your division? Record of the three best teams against teams not in the division (so the division as a whole isn't drug down by one terrible bottom dweller). Something else?

I'd say it's more of an eye test. On the whole, the AL East has been the best division in baseball for decades.

I don't think we're as big of trash talkers. Not just this year, but most years.

I'm not saying we can't and don't talk trash, but we mostly stay on our board and talk a lot of **** about our own team. We haven't really had the opportunity to come here and spew it against your team.

There is finally movement in the division now that the season is three weeks from being finished. Once Houston took over in May, there hasn't been much jockeying. Seattle really wants to win the division, they just haven't been able to gain any ground.

I'm pretty sure Chris Young sabotaged our vets to get them out of the way for the Little Rascals, hoping to just put a quick end to the season. But it's backfired on him, and we're making a move now.

I have my doubts whether the Rangers will make the postseason, but this has been a fun three weeks or so. I hope the next 2.5 weeks are just as fun.
