The logic is they were both expected to win and did but Coogler got a bigger applause so maybe more people liked Sinners and it hints it might win.

I hope not but the logic is pretty simple.

This broadcast is painful to watch. The writing is terrible, both for Conan and the presenters. Even the political parts are terrible. Something is just off this year

FWIW i was in a restaurant and they had the oscar's on with no sound. When Coogler came on the camera then panned to just about every black person in the room. It made me wonder if something he said was overtly political and/or race based. I got on and checked this thread to see if something had been said, which apparently wasn't.

but to pretend that race isn't a huge issue in the oscar's would be disingenuous at best. I don't care one way or another mind you, just an observation

also, i saw both Sinners and One Battle and if i were voting Sinners would win. But i dont thing either are worth of the best picture title.
