* Layoff notices are going out to more than 1,300 employees of the U.S. State Department Friday.

* The firings are part of a dramatic reorganization and a push by the Trump administration to drastically downsize the federal government.

The State Department is laying off more than 1,300 employees Friday, a move that critics say will make us less safe abroad and hurt America's leadership across the globe.

The Trump administration has pushed to reshape American diplomacy and worked aggressively to shrink the size of the federal government, including mass dismissals as part of moves to dismantle whole departments like the U.S. Agency for International Development and the Education Department.
State Dept. layoffs

By the numbers:

The department is sending layoff notices to 1,107 civil servants and 246 foreign service officers with domestic assignments in the United States, a senior State Department official told The Associated Press.

Foreign service officers affected will be placed immediately on administrative leave for 120 days, after which they will formally lose their jobs, according to an internal notice obtained by The Associated Press. For most affected civil servants, the separation period is 60 days, it said.

Interesting.

WaPo claim anonymous sources are telling them that the Trump admin are currently "firing and pushing out employees" at the DOJ/FBI, with zero explanation or warning.

Sounds like a purge is going on.

Perhaps bad actors are being drawn out and eliminated. But one thing is for certain, that much is going on behind the scenes. There's plenty going on that we do not get to see.

Exactly. It's July 12 and Pam was confirmed as AG on Feb 4. Why did it take five months to do this? She is holding onto lots of people that should have been fired on day one so that she can use them as a diversion from public attention to important issues i.e. her self-contradictory statements on the Epstein files and Epstein's death (much more importantly the former than the latter). Firing people that should have been unemployed months ago is the Pam Bondi equivalent of an aircraft popping flares to divert a heat-seeking missile.

The government uses polite euphemisms to explain why someone was fired. The use phrases such as "lack of candor" when what they really mean is "lack of honesty. " Pam Bondi has an Epstein problem that she created and now Trump has a Bondi problem. He had the right nominee for AG with Gaetz.

Bondi isn't the best and brightest that Florida has to offer, just the blondest. She is perfect for a job as a featured panelist on FoxNews. For Pete's sake, make the call. The government has a habit of using polite euphemisms to explain why someone was fired. You frequently hear the phrase "lack of candor" provided as an explanation when what they really mean is a lack of honesty. Bondi's got a problem because she lies to the public.

Wowzers.

Quote:

I served in the PA Bureau at State under W. PA was the dumping ground of every employee who refused to work but could not be fired.

There some great & knowledgeable & dedicated career staff with 80% bloat. As a political appointee, you needed private insurance because if you fired someone the union could sue you personally, and State sided with the union.

One person spent all day calling information shows to win contests.

Many ran their EBay Store from their desk.

The average person swiped in at 7:58, walked to the cafeteria, and did not get to their desk until 10:30.

Fridays before Redskins or Ravens games half the employees would wear Jerseys and have theme lunches that last 3 hours.

I knew a 30 year old grandmother with 5 kids, no man in her life so did literally nothing but manage her household all day and was told we can't fire her she has 5 kids and a grandkid and what will happen to them? It was a welfare program.

Many had accrued so much PTO that every Friday they called in sick.

At 3:45 they'd gather by the exits to meet friends. Stare at the big clock. And the second it hit 4:01pm, they'd swipe out. On their card they were there "before 8" stated until "after 4" and that was cause for step increase.

I met some of the most lazy, conniving, selfish individuals at State. Greedy. Entitled. Sabotaging.

If Congress objects ask them if a union manages their office staff, or if they do, and can they hire / fire / promote, or does some other entity get to decide for them.

I cannot applaud this enough except 1300 is short by 7,000. And every other agency needs to do the same. Government is not a welfare or jobs program.

An interesting report by John Solomon that a special prosecutor may be in the works for deep state conspiracy.

https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2025/07/12/huge-the-trump-administration-is-about-to-go-after-the-deep-state-in-a-big-way-n4941692

Quote:

He claimed the case reaches back to the summer of 2016, before Crossfire Hurricane was launched, and extends all the way through to 2024, encompassing "a large series of events" aimed at stopping Trump from winning the presidency.
Solomon said the massive case has been built largely out of the public eye, obscured by media theatrics and political infighting. "It's been masked by a lot of this infighting and drama and soap opera stuff," he said. "But the truth of the matter is, MAGA base Americans are gonna be happy when they see where this is all heading."

He says he expects it to become public in the next week or ten days.

We'll see if and how this plays out, but I tend to trust Solomon's professionalism and veracity.

Is this the Jim Ferguson that was the BREXIT candidate?

Nevertheless, I hope his reporting is accurate, there needs to be a reckoning for those miscreants that have attempted to destroy countries including the U.S.

The mention of Mark Rutte deserves some time to consider who he is and what he represents. Rutte was PM of the Netherlands and led the move to remove farms for land that their families had farmed for centuries in the name of environmentalism. He was the target of the Dutch farmer' protest that ousted his party from power in late 2023. Rutte is completely owned by the CCP. The ostensible rationale for eliminating 60% of Dutch farms was to prevent climate change but the real reason was to claim the land for the development of the Tri-States City that would straddle the borders of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. The Tri-States City is to he the Atlantic port terminus of Xi Xinping' Belt & Road. To accomplish the objective, Rutte flooded Holland with unassimilated Asian immigrants, mostly Muslims, to nullifying the voice of native Dutch (sound familiar?). The violent Islamofascists I the Netherlands are openly seeking to displace ethnic Europeans and to establish a caliphate there. These are the violent jihadis that Ayan Hirsi Ali and Geert Wilders have been fighting.

So now, Rutte is leading NATO. It probably won't come as a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention but the military doctrine for suppressing dissident political parties and movements in the name of "Human Security" has been largely taking place in other NATO countries since Trump took office and Hegseth was confirmed as as SecDef. The cockroaches in the Pentagon may have scurried for cover in the US military and they may not be attending the conference where these topics are being discussed but the rest of NATO and especially the UK and Canada are.

Consider this month's issue of the Canadian Forces' Journal and their focus topic of Human Security. Their definition of Human Security is a facade for protecting the authority of the ruling party and using military force to do so.

https://www.journal.forces.gc.ca/cmj-25.2-toc-en.html

One of the threats to Human Security that NATO is seeking to counter is "Political Insecurity." You can read that directly as "military force employed to protect ruling parties against popular movements and opposition parties." It is censorship and removing opposition candidates from running for office and using ISR to spy on political opposition parties.

https://www.journal.forces.gc.ca/cmj-article-en-252page20.html

In the article linked above, it states that "NATO has adapted human security to the needs of a political-military alliance." That political-military alliance does not include opposition parties that are intent on replacing the status quo.

The interests of Human Security would be cited as justification for actions such as banning Calin Georgescu and canceling elections in Romania, barring Jair Bolsonaro from running for President of Brazil to 2030, proposals to ban the AfD in Germany, and banning Marine Le Pen from running for President in France.

NATO is fully expecting to use military force to protect the ruling parties of the globalists. It is very anti-democratic but they aren't shy about discussing it in journals published outside of the US military. Keep you eye on NATO and Rutte because they have morphed into the military alliance of the WEF and the US still funds the lion's share of it.

Excellent post, and he's not the only 'true believer' of the Club of Rome vile ideology ('The Limits of Growth') running things in Europe right now.

Mike Benz had a few great posts on his connections but I can't find it right now, it was from a year or two ago I think, back when he was trying to destroy Dutch farming in the name of 'nitrogen pollution.'

Good, the DoD has no business with this crowd. Hegseth also needs to stop sending GO/FO-track O-6 to be fellows at Brookings, CSIS, and the Atlantic Council Scowcroft Center. This is where they are taught the secret handshakes and get wired into their post-uniform career path.

The fact that a US General in uniform is attending Bilderberg this year is a sign that the military is still under the sway of the globalist billionaires.

it's still weird to me that members of the party of weird kink, blgtqiasp+, MAPs, anti-god/religion communists, transitioning children, drag queen stories for children, teaching sexual ideology to children, and mental illness are programmed to be so mad that Matt Gaetz paid an escort service for some dates 8-10 years ago before he was married and one of his dates allegedly may or may not have been 17 at the time. Why did ethics committee look into it but zero charges have ever been filed for it?

not that Gaetz is some infallible saint or anything. if there was a crime, prove it and send him where criminals belong. ..but the different sets of standards that are continually established is tiresome.

Statutory rape isn't a federal crime, so there were no federal charges to be filed once they determined all they had was trafficking and there wasn't enough proof for that. And then the statute of limitations for Florida expired on any state charges.

He tried to quit congress before the ethics report came out because he knew what it said and he was hoping they wouldn't release it, but they let it out anyways. And then he withdrew himself from the AG nomination, I'm assuming because he knew the report was true and that he'd never get confirmed.

He may not be a criminal by definition but he certainly seems like a scumbag even by Washington standards. There are literally likely thousands of people who would be better options if Trump decides to move on from Bondi. It's ok to think that he's a scumbag and that people on the left are also scumbags too.

It's because the Godless left are all moral relativists. The only true sin of these people is hypocrisy because that is a failure to live up to your own moral code. They set no such bar for themselves so they are never "sinners".

Gaetz is part of the moral right club in their eyes even if he isn't a paragon as such.

I'd like to know if the honchos who were scheduled to speak were self-motivated to attend this thing or were they just following (previous) orders from FJB's Marxist globalist psychos? If they were 'all in' on the event they need to be canned yesterday.

Also, how many other things like this go on without the (way in advance) knowledge of Hegseth and Co?
