A state has the right to change the map whenever they wish.

The last census count, by the way, mistakenly favored the blue states over the red states. So the whole process was corrupted to the advantage of California, New York and Illinois at the expense of Republican states that are growing due to the fact they are not run by people who get their economic policies from Mao Zedong and Enver Hoxha.

If Texas is in the wrong, and they are not, then at least be consistent and call out the states who did exactly the same thing in advance of the 2024 election.

And states can get new data any number of ways, not reliant on the federal census, such as property taxes, building permits, income tax filings, etc.

Bottom line is there's no federal law or constitutional prohibition preventing states from redistricting as frequently as they want. In 2023 Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina, and New York before the 2024 election so the democrats could gain five seats.

Dems have long led the way in gerrymandering in their favor and saying they did it for the voters, calling it equality, equity.

What is funny here is that they are sticking to shenanigans and not resorting to legal tactics such as lawsuits, civil rights violations.

They are not talking about what was unfair or unlawful about the process and result, just that they don't like the result and will do everything they can to prevent the result being implemented.

They have lost this round and expect them to become more and more desperate.

The reality is gerrymandering sucks at any point and I don't think anyone agrees with it from a democratic perspective. Politicians choosing their voters is an issue. The reality is if you want to win more seats, make policies that appeal to more people.

You should have the left drop all lawsuits over restricting as gerrymandering is often the result of legal actions saying the districts discriminate.

What New York did in response to court actions is similar to what Rs have done here. They are just cleaning things up on their own to reflect demographic and voter preference changes in Texas.

So why are democrats nationwide so enraged that Texas is now doing what California, Illinois, New Yoirk, Maryland, Massachusetts, and others have already done?

I'll tell you why.

They have the ball at the two yard line. If they can turn Texas, they ensure uninerrupted democrat rule for decades to come... It's completetion of a plan that has been in motion for some time now.

The last administration's actions were a siginificant trigger in the strategic geographic placement of over 10 million immigrants who - regardless of whether or not they vote - will count toward census-based determination of congressional disticts in 2030. We still don't know what exactly that will look like in Texas, but I bet the democrat architects of the plan do.

It is my belief that the vast majority of illegal immigratnts throughout the country are in highly populated, democrat strongholds. New census numbers move more congressional seats to those locations. Though they deny it, we all know that Great Replacement Theory is very real, and it is in mid-implementation.

So they think they have Texas positioned to wake up in 2031 and "turn blue", thereby completing the plan. The current redistricting plan thwarts that plan. Thus the nationwide hysterics we're currently seeing.

This has never been about Congressional Dems losing power, it's about them not being able to permanenty cement it.

Democrats have used the ability to require 'pre-clearance' for redistricting in red states in the South, to hold Republican-majority states hostage to make comparatively absurd maps with many 'majority minority' (Dem) districts, while Dem states have freely redistricted to maximize their partisan (again, Dem) advantage for decades. Losing that since pre-clearance is no longer required (since 2019), after much lawfare post-2020 census in the southern States, is what is driving them insane.

It's only via (a) pre-clearance, (b) fake census figures, (c) counting illegals in blue states, and (d) complete political gerrymandering in blue states (IL/NY/CA/WI etc), that they have kept the House competitive for them (well, and mail in voting fraud in commie states). This is an existential threat, in other words, and their only hope is to stall now in the hopes of retaking the Presidency for the 2030 census.

The Chicago "earmuffs" district is drawn that way in order to unite two separate Hispanic neighborhoods into one district to ensure that they get a Representative.

If we want nice-looking districts, we need to incentivize each racial minority in each major city to live in one designated area. Ideally, make it rectangular to make things maximally easy for the map-drawers.

Or we could just repeal the VRA's requirement for majority-minority districts so non-White candidates actually have to compete.
