Edit: my last response was way too long for y'all's fun switch thread so I'm taking it away.

I'll just say that it's a slippery slope if Big N starts permanently bricking or nerfing consoles for something as silly as using a "copied" game. I'd be all for temp bans, but not permanent changes to someone's system.
It's also a problem of weak consumer protection laws in the US. The EU EUA does not include the ability to permanently brick the console.

Has anyone tried Welcome Tour?

A buddy of mine just finished it and says it's pretty fun, just trying see if it's actually worth dropping $10 for it.

I haven't bought a Switch 2 yet since I decided I'll just wait until a Mario platformer or new Zelda, but with the renewed interest around Windwaker on NSO, I dusted off my Wii U and started a replay of Windwaker HD. I'm reminded every time I play it how good this game is. I think I enjoy it more with each new playthru

The new Donkey Kong looks pretty great and it looks like was developed by the same team that did Mario Odyssey.

I think it's going to end up giving that game a run for its money.

Also totally agree on Wind Waker. That game has aged incredibly well and the HD version is beautiful.

I have Welcome Tour. It really comes down to how much you like mini games and tech demos. Lots if stuff to do in it. $10 isn't too much, and I like the details it provides on how the console works. Some of it is kind of lame. I did not need a highlight of the stitching on the joycon straps!

I am loving the Switch 2 and have fallen in love with BOTW and MKW.

Will not purchase the Welcome Tour on principle as in my opinion that should have been included with the console. I am already paying enough money for the console and the games and shouldn't have to pay for a "tour" of the console. At this point I don't think there is any information in the Welcome Tour that I cannot find via outher outlets and have seen nothing about the minigames that make them on their own worth $10.

It, along with what I feel like has been excessive price increases across the board (prices for the new Amiibos are especially egregious) are the only things that have left any sour taste in my mouth about this release.

Any leads on availability online? Checking local stores here in Denver, but no luck yet.

Yea, I decided to just watch some youtube video reviews and save the $10

Eh, I like technology and learning how stuff works, so I decided to drop the $10. Will be playing that this weekend.

Finished my wind waker HD replay tonight.
It really does hold up well. The last boss fight is my favorite ending out of all the Zelda games

Have to say, the minigames and tech demos in the Welcome Tour are actually pretty entertaining. If anything it's cool to see how well the mouse works on my couch cushion, seeing precisely the difference HDR makes, testing out the noise isolation on the mic, and so forth.

Is it worth $10? If you're into tech like I am -- probably.

Should it have been a pack-in? Absolutely.

I've been putting in some time with MKW and I'm enjoying it so far. I don't know that the character and car combinations matter as much as they felt like they did in MK8 where so many of the top racers were Waluigi. Basically you've gotta decide if you want top end speed or acceleration and handling. There's so much chaos in Knockout Tour that acceleration is more valuable than top end speed because of how far back you back you fall anytime you get hit. Grand Prix is basically the same as it was in MK8, online play I've only raced with around 12 so it feels the same. In Knockout Tour I've only been able to make it to the top 8 so far, definitely more competition in Knockout Tour than Grand Prix as far as I've experienced.

I haven't tried BOTW or TOTK yet, I'm holding off on those for now.

Knockout is fun, I usually run baby mario with one of the top speed bikes. I will say, once you start learning how to do side flips off of the rails onto just the walls (which I'm still struggling with) the courses change a ton. Also I didn't realize you could hold down the R bumper on straightaways (like you could in turns in all the games) to initiate a front flip boost or side flip to jump on an upper rail. My 9 year old daughter taught me that one LOL

Knockout is fun, in a more stressful way but when you're in a cluster of racers and you don't know if you're gonna make it to the next stage it's next level. My daughter doesn't care for Knockout. I'm better at Grand Prix but Knockout is a different kind of fun. My favorite combo these days is Donkey Kong on the rally bike.

Oh yeah, Donkey Kong is one of my go to's on Grand Prix. Fortunately my daughter likes all game play, so we play prix, knockout, and battle (although we play on the same team which she enjoys a lot)

I refuse to let my daughter win so that if she does beat me it's for real. The worst part is that she's a bad loser and a worse winner. I don't know where she got it but at 9 years old she refers to a lot of games we play as "fixed." Whether it's a game of skill or luck, a loss in her eyes can only be due to that.

Damn, fortunately my 9 year old daughter does pretty real with loses (since I usually crush her or her friends at Mario Kart), but she is a bit overly excited the rare times she wins something.

I mean... you're good for the next 4 months to a year, depending on how quickly you play through all of that.

If my daughter beats me in one race she celebrates like we beat the horns in Austin.

Digital only Super Mario Odyssey with Switch 2 updates is on sale at Best Buy today for $40, normally $60. I've never played it and just picked it up

Has anyone played Cyberpunk? Considering rebuying it for Switch 2, as it's been years and I never played the phantom Liberty DLC.

Does it run okay, or should I just go download phantom Liberty on Xbox?

For experiencing all Cyberpunk has to offer? I would never purchase on the Switch2 unless that's the only console you own or you just prefer playing games in handheld mode. PC > PS5 Pro > PS5/Xbox Series X > Switch2.

As for whether it's worth it? YES! OH HELL, YES!

Patch 2.0 was released with Phantom Liberty. They completely overhauled so many mechanics as well as the entire perk tree. All of the changes made it a top 10 game of all time, for me. Then, you add the awesomeness that is the Phantom Liberty DLC. Fantastic story line, missions, and voice acting.

To me, Cyberpunk 2077 with the Phantom Liberty DLC is a must own for any gamer.

For my money, Odyssey is the best Mario game not named Super Mario 64. And it runs/looks really nice with its Switch 2 upgrades.

Enjoy.

My interest in Mario Kart is diminishing. Knockout Tour is fun but Grand Prix without all tracks is something I don't care for. A linear race on Knockout Tour makes sense because of the stages but I don't like those stages individually for a Grand Prix race. I could pick up MK8 right now and not be bored with those tracks. I think the population feels the same way given that most of the Grand Prix races I've been in are half full compared to a full 24 on Knockout Tour. I'm hoping they can perhaps do a patch at some point to improve that experience.

A Metascore of 9.0 on over 80 reviews is pretty crazy. I've seen reviews saying it's legitimate Game of the Year material

100% agree with this. I've enjoyed time trials more because I can actually race the tracks.
