On a somewhat related note, Marilyn Burgess, Harris County District Clerk has decided not to seek reelection, after Commissioners Court refused to consider her requested pay raise from $179,000 to $260,000. That was after voting for herself to receive a raise to $295,000 as a member of the Grievance Committee, but was opposed by the committee and the budget director.

Guess she forgot to ask Rodney's permission first.

On that note, after departments took their 10% budget cuts, they then lost millions in the balance budget and are now slashing staff.

Watching yesterday's budget vote.

Lina is off her rocker. Shes completely ignoring Roberts Rules of Order. The next year is going to be wild. She is so worked up she's shouting into the mic and her voice is breaking.

Then lectures about decorum as she's breaking it. Total class act.

Wow, she's going after 2:18 she going after both Garcia and Briones. When Garcia states Point of Order she snarks if he should be censured for interrupting her rant. County Attorney is also trying to reign her in and failing.

2:44 Lina goes off on being silenced.

Shes a no show after the lunch recess she called. She casually rolls in 3 minutes with Ellis after budget hearings start. She was too busy with a press conference. Good lord she's so petty and immature.

Item 2: HC Budget and Toll Road Budget. Items are passing as its broken down in via motions.

Shes making a motion to wait on new raises in order to deal with flood bonds. She's going after Flood Control from the $2.5B bond from 2018. She wants investigations and an audit done by mid Nov. $410M million bond deficit. But this has a lot to do with Court mismanagement and inflation.

Shes just throwing hand grenades at this time. 3 motions. No one seconded her motions they die at her feet.

Ramsey's comments. States they found matching $2.7B funds from state/feds. Says over $5B in projects will be done. 3-5 years to get them bid, but the time this is done they will figure out the $410M deficit. Lina states 26 projects are "killed" and he retorts they are paused for engineering reasons. Basically stating Lina is FOS.

Garcia: thanks Tom for setting the record straight and and blames the GLO for slow rolling funding.

Ellis: states they didn't follow the prioritization framework. Which they changed, initially it was the best bang for the buck and current court modified it to an equity framework. This is when they canned Poppe at FC. They will go back to the voters for another bond.

Lina stuck in a loop now regarding associate judges, funded by ARPA funds, as those funds dry up there's no backup funding. And hilariously Lina is challenging Briones bonifdes.

Shes such an embarrassment....and at the tail end, back to early childhood projects and just rambling back again to flood control projects.

And back to her ranting about an audit, judges, school i sections, cutting funding for a list of mumbling.

I don't agree with Briones much at all politically but she's a sharp cookie. Dealt with her in her previous life and she's definetly not just an empty suit.
