Anyone gotten through to purchase tickets yet? I was in the waiting room from the beginning. Still waiting to get a chance to buy.
Got in for Creed, but it was all 600's

Real Ball Knowers know that this is the real HSLR lineup.
https://www.rodeohouston.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/2024_TheHideout_EntertainerCalendar.pdf
Mike in the Moonpies aren't on the lineup for the first time in forever.
Ideal HSLR rodeo day:
-Buy just a fairgrounds ticket
-Arrive at opening, go see the exhibits. I generally like seeing what giant trailers the FFA/4H/tech kids have welded up over the past year and are showing off.
-1PM at the latest: Proceed to outdoor wine venue. Sit in the area with the stage.
-Stay all day there listening to randos perform
-5PM go test out the massage chairs Mattress Firm/Gallery Furniture have set up. Take nap until sales person tells you to move.
-Go to the hideout when it opens.
-Shut the hideout down
-Take a ridiculously priced uber home.
-Brace for a rough sunday.
That's the Hideout lineup from 2024, this years hasn't been released yet. Like Chewy said, they used to get great bands and it was a lot of fun, but the lineups the past 10 years or so have been bad, you couldn't pay me to go in there now.
Thanks for the update.
Would I go to the rodeo on a random tuesday to see any of the hideout performers? No.
Will I keep the party going by stumbling into the hideout? Sure.
At some point, the hideout bands will get so bad and the uncorked lineup so good that you're just deciding if you want to drink inside a tent or outside a tent.
Any thoughts on why they have let the quality of the Hideout acts digress over the years? Are they not trying, is there a different group of people deciding the acts, or are they pushing more people towards the Wine Garden?

You know you're old when the music on the radio or out at the bar is grating to you but the grocery store is playing bangers.

Only one rock band. For millennials. I guess most of the classic rock bands are dead, like, actually dead. We went to Journey last year. Hellacious traffic, awful over-priced food. 3 songs before the stage caught on fire. Got home at 1 a.m.
The only good part was that I bought my Final 4 tickets with my refund.

HEB played Jimmy Eat World yesterday and I hummed along.

Jimmy Eat World is probably the worst concert I've ever been to. The crowd was yelling for them to get off the stage.

Changing the subject a bit...
By far my best rodeo experience was at a BBQ tent at the Pasadena rodeo once.
Turns out, my company has tickets available for several of the tents. How do I choose which one? Like, I know the booze and BBQ will be good everywhere, but what about the music, crowd vibe? Is there a list of the entertainment in the tents, and is it better to go on Friday or Saturday night?

I'm in but $140 each for Forrest Frank nosebleeds seems excessive.

I never saw them in concert so I wouldn't know but I do believe you.
That being said, I saw Turnpike Troubadours multiple times a year back during their heyday and they are all time the best concert I've been too and then the next year all time the worst concert I've been to. Also was there for their unenthused HSLR reboot show. Felker was an angry sober that day.

Why don't you just get Chairman's Club for $205/seat. At least all your alcohol and food is included. Is your view any better from the other sections?

Once our group started getting the Chairman's Club seats, we've never looked back.

Rock has died a slow death as a genre. Its lives on as 'harder' subgenres. The craft beer-ization of the market. I think the last true rock band that got big is Shinedown and even then, Shinedown couldn't fill the HLSR like any famous rock band names of a boomer lore.
Rock is dead.
Taylor Swift is the last music superstar.
Millennials ruin everything.

Don't blame us! You can't be mad at us for not wanting to listen to butt rock aka divorced dad rock. The biggest reason for the fragmenting of rock and other pop music was our generation had the ability to download (legally and illegally) whatever music we wanted. Our music fandoms are divided by our personal tastes rather than what the top labels and radio stations put out.

I would hope so. Otherwise you're a creeper.

i picked up a few of these and now trying to decide which seats to sit in. I am guessing those are going to resell much higher than 205/ticket as the date gets closer if I dont use them. I didnt even realize they came with free alcohol as well when I grabbed them.

The alcohol includes top shelf liquors and the food is very good!

My main problem is we are bringing the kiddos, so the alcohol doesnt do a ton for us. Plus paying an extra 70/ticket just for the kids to have unlimited food is probably not the best investment

Yep....in the glory days it was guaranteed to be a good show, maybe like 2013ish when they'd play House of Blues every year. I was going to see them at Firehouse Saloon after a rodeo show w/ a friend before that but we decided to sell the tix last minute for like $120; I regret missing that show.
I'd like to see them again, but I'll probably be disappointed. They're playing a rooftop show in NY on 6/5 that I'd like to go to.

Turnpike kicks ass again. Seen them several times since they returned and they are great again

That's good to hear, I need to get on it. The reunited show at WOMH was good and packed.
They play 6/5 in NY and Forrest Frank plays MSG 6/10 (cheaper tix than rodeo) so a trip then would rock.

Forrest Frank is the only one in the lineup the lineup that I hadn't heard of, but my seats for that night sold the fastest. Guess he is popular if you would consider going to NY to see him.
