Spurs played well, but we definitely beat ourselves. So many possessions where we just played careless, undisciplined basketball. Plenty of film for Ime to show.

Thought Reed had a great game

In +/- Reed was +8 against the Spurs (when only Capella was also in the positive) and +3 tonight

He's definitely getting better, and he's finding a way to be net positive.

I definitely need to eat some Crow with Shepperd. he was an amazing pest on defense the last 2 games and it ha fueled his confidence.

Really aging myself here, but I sort of see Jabari growing into a Charles Smith (Knicks/Spurs) role where he's never going to be a star but if he can just be tougher on the boards, he's doing enough little things to really be a glue guy.

Also, I have no idea who Ryan Rollins is, but I picked him up in FBL last week and watched him play today, that guy is a baller. Ah, now I see he is a chronic shoplifter. Anyway, he's averaging 17 points, 3.5 reb, 5.4 ast and 1.9 steals per game.

This has more to do with Luka putting up his best career numbers than it does with anything happening with the Mavs.

Owners are embarrassed (even though they signed off) and they need someone else to blame other than themselves

what really got their attention was their home attendance. It has barely risen at all from last year despite the addition of the most marketable white rookie since ??? Laettner? Larry Bird?


In 2023-2024, they averaged more than 20,000 a game.
Last year they averaged 19,102 at home.
So far this year, they are averaging 19,297 at home. Which means that the addition of Cooper Flagg has brought 195 more people to the games.
Their only time above 20,000 at home so far was the opening night vs. San Antonio. They couldn't get 20,000 for OKC on a Monday or Milwaukee 2 days ago.
Not to mention their fans are chanting FIRE NICO - every night - and have done it ever night for 7 home game last year and the final 16 home games last year.
And they are terrible, last in the league in offense. Their pre-season OU was 41.5 wins. They're on pace for 22.

Luka getting pissed and getting in shape to take it out on the rest of the NBA was the most predictable outcome from that trade. I guess the owner now is at least acknowledging that it was a mistake...but he shouldn't have needed hindsight to come to that conclusion.
