Was there when the Admiral got his MVP and Dream proceeded to tear his ass to smithereens that same night. It was glorious. Me and about 200 Rockets fans up in the rafters yelling MVP MVP every time Dream touched the ball. One of the most fun nights of my sports life
totally unrelated……..but is anyone else as sick of ESiPN as I am? Bad enough them being 24/7 sip homers but their non stop Knicks jerkoff since Saturday night has gotten nauseating. I think it was Kenny Smith who said in a post-game interview that "maybe they should vote again" on regular season MVP. My one Spurs fan friend at A&M was so livid when he said that.
When the Rockets won Game 5 to go up 3-2, that same friend kept saying, "There are 2 games left, and they are both in San Antonio!"
When the Rockets won Game 6 to clinch it, my buddy Dave, a magnificent sarcastic a-hole, then and now, would approach the Spurs' fan for weeks afterwards saying, "Hey, when is Game 7 going to be in San Antonio? I can't find it on the schedule anywhere."
When the Rockets won Game 5 to go up 3-2, that same friend kept saying, "There are 2 games left, and they are both in San Antonio!"

Im certain this is more about culture than actual basketball ability. Hopefully he can bring the same level of influence that DB brought to our collective toughness. We got a bit soft at times last year and it really cost us. In a perfect world his attitude will seep into Reed, like it did with Tatum and Brown. The contract is very reasonable, so it can't possibly be as bad as the DFS swing and miss.

Marcus Smart? Meh dude is a 3pt brick machine.
I look at it the same way. There's value in his experience and his mental toughness. Maybe he can change the attitude of some of the younger guys. He's that Pat Bev and DB kinda guy that you would hate from afar but love if he's on your team.
Helps too that he's already got chemistry with Ime and knows the system/defensive philosophy

They didn't get him for his shooting. He's going to toughen you up. Lakers probably don't win that first round series without him. He does things you can't coach. And you got for a fairly low price. This is a value add for yall.
