Pretty amazing - Toronto's last home game 7 was also in the ALCS, 40 years and 4 days before last night's game - October 16,1985. They blew a 3-1 series lead and lost to Kansas City after going 99-62 in the regular season.

Game 7 was old school baseball - Royals started Brett Saberhagen in his Cy Young year, Blue Jays started Dave Stieb, ho had led the league in ERA. Royal pounced early, never trailed, won 6-2 on the road.

I'm taking more joy in Soyattle losing this series than I should. They were up 2-0, and going home for 3.

Loved seeing Springer with the dagger. It brought back some great memories while, at the same time, some sadness the Astros couldn't be there.

The biggest reason I have more joy is specifically springer hitting that bomb. One because of his stros days. Two because the reaction from their fans, media, etc when they drilled him in the knee. Especially considering their total hbp over the year.

Lopez makes so much sense. 2 years left on his deal. Expensive, which means he'll cost a little less in prospects, and there will be fewer teams in competition for him.

He'd basically eat up our available payroll, but he's exactly the type of player I would spend it on. Go cheap with another SP, RP, and a vet catcher.

The only issue is, you have to feel a very high confidence in his arm to last 2 seasons. We can't give up prospects and tie up payroll for a guy who needs TJ after he exits a game in early May.

Their Achilles heal (road games) finally got them. In regular season they were terrible on the road (9 games under .500) until their hot streak in mid Sep where they went 7-1. Reversion to the mean spelled their doom.
Good riddance seamen.
