Astros catcher coach was dismissed. Maldy would be a great fit for that position to work his way to bench coach.

I loved what Maldy brought to the team in terms of catching, pitcher management, and clubhouse presence. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Per LockedOnAstros - Houston signs RP Nate Pearson (age 29) to a 1 year deal.

While he has only started 6 games out of 123 for his career, it is believed the Astros are going to try and make him a starter.
