At this point it is looking more and more likely!

I have to imagine there is a decent chance. The bull case on Prager has always been that he is really good as a "pitchability" guy and if he were to add 3-5 mph he could really be a great MLB arm. He's sat 88-90 mph since HS.
I would guess we could match or exceed whatever slot bonus he gets in NIL. He'd get peanuts next year unless his fastball makes a big jump (and even then would get below slot), but the big question is how much does he want to join professional baseball.

Still says this is happening - maybe an 11th round selection if they are worried about bonus pool money?

Honest question in regard to Prager. Would you come back to a staff and organization that was in charge when you dropped 6 rounds and cost yourself about $800,000 in slot money?

Honestly, with the exception of Prager, most of the pitching staff took a step forward last year. What cost him money was his inability to add velocity between last year and this year. I'm not sure if that's on our staff or he's just topped out. Jace should be angrier about his fall than Prager.a.froman said:

Honest question, do you really thinks the coaching staff caused his struggles this year? He was viewed as an extremely polished professional like pitcher the prior year. You think a coaching staff caused his velocity to be down and struggle to throw strikes? I doubt he thinks that. It's not like Max Weiner was Ryan's secret sauce.
I'm very curious as to what the cause of the step back was for Prager. Perhaps maybe it was less a step back rather than him having a freak outstanding season, but I suspect it was apart of his growth. If so not sure if it was mental, coaching, or something physical that has been hidden. Either would love to see him come back and have a season the propels him to a first or second round draft pick. I think he has it in him. .themissinglink said:Honestly, with the exception of Prager, most of the pitching staff took a step forward last year. Well, who knows if Weiner and Schloss were his secret sauce but he certainly didn't get any better. If he was a polished pitcher already then, the ability to throw strikes shouldn't have been an issue.
What do you attribute his struggles to then?

Did you watch our bullpen at all last year? Other than Moss the rest of the bullpen was a disaster. Prager regressed and Lamkin and Patton were what you expected, solid.

When judging our bullpen it seems to get overlooked we lost from the year prior Evan A and Cortez who were as dominant out of the pen as we've had in a very long time. Simply losing those two guys is going to be a major step back. They were so damn good.

Losing Stewart didn't help either.

So assuming all the guys in the top 10 rounds go and all of the guys with eligibility remaining and not yet drafted make it to campus next year (dangerous assumptions I know):
How do you feel about:
1) Kiel RF
2) Sorrell LF
3) Grahovac 3B
4) Havopian SS
5) Latta 1B
6) Duer CF
7) Harrison C
8) Binderup DH
9) Royo 2B
Bench:
Farr, Partida, Billings, Bullard, Kellner, Boughton
Pitching
Sdao - Friday
Moss - Saturday
Carson Bailey - Sunday
Freshcorn - Tuesday
Bullpen
David Ramirez, Chase Bentley, Michael Bollinger

so regarding Jace...
our eyes were not deceiving us during the season
there were issues / struggles that caused him to drop
Yep. When the Astros passed on him at 21, I knew he wasn't passing the MLB "eye test". He still has the potential to have a great career, but it is going to take some work to get the 2025 season out of his head.
With every passing day, I realize more and more what an unmitigated disaster the 2025 Aggie baseball season was. I can't believe we're going to run it back in 2026. I get a pit in my stomach just thinking about it.

I think we will be good next year. Arguably the best RF in college baseball. Third will be strong. Bear is a good catcher with power. TK will be strong in CF. Nail down SS and second and add a little more pitching.

I have heard Hartshorn's NIL is $500K. I think there is a good possibility he still comes to A&M.
