Yes. I agree. Opening the dam isn't a concern and didn't mean to imply that it was. We are fortunate that the lake was at 46% prior to this as it could have been much worse if it was already full.

At the risk of offering a truly uneducated suggestion, why, given the propensity for this type of event to happen every few years, do they not build a lake in the Kerrville area to absorb the runoff and take the pressure off of downstream areas? Isn't that what Canyon Lake is for? Would it work upstream toward Hunt and Kerrville
