"Her plan"... Plans are things you think you can accomplish and have some way (however slim the chances are) to turn into reality. Her "plan" is actually just the delusional fantasy of every 12 year old that thinks they have been bullied and "plans" to go full ninja and beat up 7 kids bigger than them at the same time. She delusional because either she is on very strong drugs or has a serious mental health issue such as bipolar or schizophrenia. Maybe all the above.

So to get her removed from office what needs to happen? Is it a recall vote? Is there a gross negligence or incompetence rule in place that could be used to force her out? I'm not up to speed on my down in the weeds politics.

Not to go full schmellba here, but we better hope that doesn't happen. Not because of anything with Lina, but even a tropical depression would result in a disaster declaration for Harris County, and then the dem commissioners would use that as their cover to raise property taxes another 8% without a vote, just like they did last year. For the life of me I still can't figure out why the state legislature passed such a stupid rule that is so clearly ripe for abuse, but here we are. And of course, as far as I know, that wasn't fixed this last session.

Until the legislature fixes their own dumbass loophole, you can likely bet that any disaster declaration in Harris County is going to be accompanied by a massive property tax hike, just because they can. And they'll hide behind the storm as the justification.

She's absolutely losing it before our very eyes. It's fascinating to watch unfold.

"In a second press conference Thursday afternoon, Judge Lina Hidalgo went further down her warpath against Commissioners Lesley Briones, Adrian Garcia and Tom Ramsey, referring to her court colleagues as the "GOP 3"despite the fact that Briones and Garcia are both Democrats."

Shes now gone full progressive by fighting her fellow Dems. As an "activist" county judge she's just not going to get anything done. At the end of the day the ARPA funds for her oet projects was always going to be a point of contention at pretty much every local government level as they now do not have the resources to continue these programs.

It was also mentioned in court yesterday that the budgets for Flood Control and Hospital District had been voter approved increases beyond the 3.5% and they were able to temporarily raise the county tax to 8%. Tax increase fatigue is a real thing.

Now they're also discussing raises for all elected officials. I believe they cannot raise judge salaries without raising their own because the mechanism to raise judge salaries is tied by % to commissioner salaries. ... and i may br wrong on that. There's some sort of supplemental resources. Its a little murky.

Anyway, at the end of the meeting the process for the constible pay raises moving forward passed 3-2, you can guess which 2 voted no.

"Ramsey told Chron, while Hidalgo continued to tout calls not to politicize the budget throughout Thursday, she turned around to do exactly what she told commissioners not to do.

"Her suggestion to cut the pay of the three Commissioners who did not vote with her is an indication of her lack of leadership and maturity," Ramsey said to Chron. "She continues to cry, 'don't politicize' this, while immediately politicizing our budget crisis.""
