Oh man, the irony of committing crimes on a street named after such an inspirational (LOL) leader in front of campus facilities intended to foster good feelings and health.Quote:
The victim told police that around 9:15 p.m., a group of four people came up to him and demanded his cellphone at METRO bus stop #11424, which is located south of University Drive on Martin Luther King Boulevard, in front of the Welcome Center and across the street from the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.
According to Chris Rock, no there isn't.Sea Speed said:

Yep, it's in quite possibly the worst and most violent part of Houston. Zero way I would ever let my girl go there. I would feel safer with her at USC to be honest.Mega Lops said:it is beyond bizarre parents let daughters go to UH. Sexual assault is a life changing event, most often changing for the worst.W said:
multiple incidents on the UH campus
The "other" education they talk about at UH is how to stay alive and overcome rape. Those are NOT achievements any westernized individual should have to deal with while in pursuit of higher learning.
However that's reality when you attend that particular university. UH is literally a zoo where the students are the meals. Maybe it is better to call it an open air prison.

West MLK in Austin is pretty nice. Only exception to the rule that I can think of.Sea Speed said:

On Saturday, UHPD said the suspect was arrested Friday night near the scene but they didn't release his identity at the time. We've since learned that Brown was initially arrested on an unrelated assault charge but the Harris County District Attorney's Office didn't accept the charges. Brown was set free Saturday and the sexual assault charges weren't filed until Tuesday.
…
"He pushed me in my car, he's got my mail, and he put a knife to my neck and raped me," the woman said.
She said he pressed the knife into her "jugular" during the attack and told her if she made a sound the knife would go inside her.
I don't think her half-hearted emails, in an attempt to curry favor with the students, have been well-received. What these students are going through is certainly not delhi-ghtful. Rape on a college campus seems like Uttar terror. She needs to dot the Is and Ts on raises for the campus cops like yesterday.W said:
where is the UH chancellor?

How many of the UH faculty and students voted Dem?
Quite a bit. They are getting the exact Democrat policies they voted for.
Year 1 - lived in high rise apartments near stadium that saw several rapes and one dude was shot in the elevator.
Year 2 - new apartment near campus and his truck in the parking garage had 4 wheels stolen and hubs set down on concrete. Another month later he heard gunshots outside his apartment door, he went outside to find a guy who was shot in the stomach. He applied pressure and called 911 to save the guy's life. When does the transfer portal open?

Still campaigning against Ogg, but not to score political points - he assures us.Quote:
Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare released the following statement following the dismissal of charges against police officers linked to the Jan. 2019 Harding Street raid:
"Today the Harris County District Attorney's Office dismissed 17 charges against 8 Houston Police Department officers associated with the Harding Street raid," said Teare. "The decision was made after a thorough review of the facts clearly demonstrated that there was insufficient evidence to prove that any of these crimes were committed beyond a reasonable doubt.
Nothing about these dismissals changes the fact that the Harding Street raid should have never happened. As the chief law enforcement officer of Harris County, I want people to know that we remain steadfast in our commitment to uncovering and addressing corruption wherever it may be found but we will always be guided by the facts, not politics.
These charges were kept on life-support by the previous District Attorney to generate headlines, damaging the reputations of the officers and the Houston Police Department, and they inevitably fell apart under the weight of the truth. As District Attorney, I am determined to pursue real justice instead of using the lives of innocent public servants to score political points.
These officers and their families have endured four years of hardship, forced to live under a cloud of suspicion and accusations of corruption. Despite the lack of evidence, they were subjected to an investigation designed to wrongfully link them to the very real, heinous crimes committed by Gerald Goines."
