If I remember correctly, the idea was to find another option in goal in the summer who could challenge Lammens for the 26-27 number 1 jersey.

GK form can change on a dime but thus far, I see no reason to do so. Probably need to go get a veteran who doesn't mind being the clear #2 and those are a lot cheaper than potential #1s.

It shouldn't be 2-2. Solanke literally kicked a City defender to score a goal. That's a foul all day and VAR not looking at that is beyond bad.

So is there no place next season for Casemiro? He clearly loves playing for Carrick, the formation is perfect for him, and he makes Mainoo much more consistent.

We need another midfielder or two no doubt, but assuming European football next season there has to be a place for him, right?

City result was perfect. As long as Arsenal are in the lead, the championship is wide open. They are bottlers.

I told a friend today that I think there's a small chance he changes his mind if United qualify for CL but only if he takes a pay cut. That may be more wishful thinking on my part but it seems plausible. But then again, he's won the CL 5 times so he might just be all about that Saudi money at this point.

We are 12 points behind with 14 games left. Catching up basically a point per remaining match is a tall ask. The only top 6 teams they have left are Chelsea and City.

I mean, if the universe has a sense of humor and they lose to Spurs (happens to the best of us) then maybe, but… their remaining league schedule is pretty manageable.

Saw it in Twitter. He's French, so Scouse Tweeters have already decided he's better than Yoro.

Edit: Also, I'd not heard of us being interested or looking at him, but suddenly Liverpool beat us and Chelsea out for him (Chelsea wants everyone that's still learning to shave so I'm sure they were interested, but … us? Really? Really?)

Not too shocked...interim manager and January is really never the best window to be buying long term players. If anything I'm surprised we didn't try for a short term loan on a CM like when we had Sabitzer

I think the only thing we did is stop a proposed deal to offload Malacia. Dorgu's injury put a halt to that.

Supposedly Malacia was headed someplace in Turkey. Not for a huge amount of $$ but more than $0.

Yeah, it wasn't a real hot transfer window close, but: What midfielder moved or was available that you'd really want? Connor Gallagher for 40M GBP? (I agreed with not tying up a bunch of money on a permanent transfer for him given we aren't great at selling).Douglas Luiz (who probably did want to return to Villa, so doubt we could have gotten)? Loftus-Cheek? Ndidi? Just saying, it wasn't a real exciting selection.

Not a lot of names that would really tickle the pickle at midfielder.

Been seeing a lot of talk about Sesko. Everyone internally knows he should be scoring more. But, unlike Garnacho, Sesko is apparently working his ass off. He was even working with Berbatov. Teammates and management love his work ethic and believe we are seeing him start to come good.

He's only played in 120 games for the club.
