The problem with Lance is every year he's coming back from an injury.

Why waste a roster spot that can be used for someone who actually contributes?

I don't question Lance's stuff. His movement is world class.

I question his ability to know where it's going. Healthy time may fix that.

Yes. But replacing the second half Framber will be easier. And replacing the Framber that assaulted his teammate will be the easiest move Dana makes all season.

Because you are stuck paying him either way. Give him a full spring to try to work out his control issues. If he does, great he is your 5th starter. If he doesn't, cut bait and bring up Ullola or whoever from the AAAA M&M squad looks the shiniest and let the TJ lottery begin.

I imagine a guy getting paid $17M will at least get Spring Training to show he can still pitch snd stay healthy. You don't want to cut him, have someone else pick him up, and discover that he still has a little left in the tank.

True but we also sucked the second half so we need something like first half Framber if we plan to compete next year.
