You know, I wasn't much of a Poulter fan until he was featured on an episode of Full Swing. Completely different guy off the course. Seemed like a good father and family man. He can be annoying on the course, but he's just a real competitor.

Poulter is great people.

He's embraced the content creation side and seeing him outside of tournament play settings changed my opinion of him. Really fun, laid back, carefree dude who seems to enjoy life.

I enjoy him and wish he were still on tour.

Both look like they play better to a fade. Trees on the right and a fairway that goes slightly left to right. I've never seen the course, but the overhead view makes both of those holes difficult to fit a draw in the fairway. Could be a reason.

They both 100% fit a fade. Feel like he could cut the corner, but has to be it.

They fit my wipey face perfectly when I played.

Even if you could make the case that 5 and 7 don't fit Bryson well and that it would analytically be a smidge better for him to hit tee shots on evens, I still think for that first match on Friday morning you gotta put him on the odds and hit the first ball. Gotta set the tone.

Same with Rory on the other side. If 5 and 7 don't fit Bryson, they especially don't fit Rory's draw. But Rory has to lead Europe out. The two teams have 23 other matches in which they can optimize that extra 0.2 strokes gained.

Also worth noting that #2 is the hole where you basically can't hit driver.

If it's obvious to everyone that Keegan is going to put Bryson out in match 1, I'm starting to feel like there's a decent chance CEO Luke will wuss out and not counter with Rory. Try to let him ease into the week and not subject him to the circus right out of the gate.

I think that could backfire big time though. The NY crowd is going to mercilessly let Rory have it all day with "scared of Bryson" chants (or something along those lines).

If I'm Keegan, I might think about upping the stakes in an interview and say something like "Bryson is going out first in every session, so if anyone on Europe is trying to avoid him, they can do so".

Not a single fan in this clip understands what Poulter meant. And to be fair maybe the interviewer was asking a loaded question but mashed potatoes and **** like this isn't loud and proud, home field, or whatever. It's just dumb.

Ian would actually appreciate fans yelling actual golf takes right at the Euro team during a RC.

I guess the one guy who did sorta get it right was the long Island ******bags guy. They just want to be heard on TV so they can tell all their dbag buddies for the next 30 years they yelled a dumb statement on hole 9.

I guess I can see it with Thomas' wedge game and Brysons distance. But if JT's driver gets loose it could get rough.

Others were Cantlay/Xander, Scottie/Henley and Harris/Morikawa.

From everything I've heard the course is set-up really easy. Hardly any rough to speak of. Course will be soft after the rains and greens really receptive so likely not an issue if Bryson/JT go out 1. You also have your two biggest rah-rah guys going to get the crowd in to it early.

Sorry - I know this has probably been discussed. What is the reason that have cut back the rough at BP for this tournament?...at least that is what I've heard.

I thought the rough was one of the significant reasons BP was such a tough golf course.

I heard the first tee times were 6:10am CST, so I excitedly set my alarm and got in my chair at 6:00am today.

Then I remembered the Ryder Cup wasn't a four day event...til tomorrow.

Because we get to set up the course, and driving accuracy isnt our biggest strength. It's why every time we've gone to Europe lately and they set up the course the rough is absurdly high.

I don't mind it, but even as a JT fan I didn't have him chalked up as a foursomes player. I hope they go win in the morning, then get sent out last in the afternoon to make a ton of birdies to close out the day and get the place rocking.

Once again, the Masters gets it right in terms of all this yelling after a shot. I think the PGA should outlaw it. Cheering is one thing, but all this other crap for a "gentleman's game" has to go.

I feel like the Masters has gotten very lax on that over the last few years. Definitely hear it more often then you used to at Augusta
