I am equally jealous of you and glad to hear that this was generally a good weekend. Looking at the interwebs you would have thought that a rebellion occurred in the DR during this festival. I can't imagine something like this will ever happen again, and as a lifelong Tool fan I'm happy that someone was able to soak it up and enjoy it.

Great spot! Hoping for one like that for NIN.

And another one in August for me!

Add in previously purchased Ghost, and that's about the most I'll do in a month!

I am a huge OLP fan and it's annoying that they always come through as an opener for (IMHO) lesser bands.

I liked a couple Live albums but never could get into Collective Soul. Maybe just wait to see if I can snag a cheap ticket closer to the show.

The real oddity is the first opener. Three 90s bands and a random younger girl? Seems odd.

it doesn't look like they play much at all.
Per setlist.fm, They came through Denver with Bush and live in 2019, then a headline in 2017, before that it was 2004.

3 times in 21 years!

Same for Houston. I mean they are a mid tier Canadian band so I don't blame them but it sucks to see the shows they put on in Canada and then never have them come here. Their Spiritual Machines II tour in particular looked cool but only hit a few US dates up north.

Got My Morning Jacket coming up in Dallas mid-April. Their new album dropped last week and it's really good. I'm a self admitted super fan and i really dig it. Way better than their last album, very cohesive and some potential bangers that will rock live on there like Squid Ink and Die For It.

Username checks out. I'll be at the Houston and Irving shows since Austin is on a Thursday night. Last time I saw MMJ in DFW, Erykah Badu joined the band for their cover of 'Tyrone'.

The new album is a little lacking for me being less than 40 minutes, but it's cool to hear em link up with a producer like Brendan O'Brien. There are only a couple skippers for me so far.

Hopefully i can finally cross Tool off my concert list this year like I'll be doing with Nine Inch Nails.

A Perfect Circle is playing San Antonio at the end of April but no other Texas dates. Still need to see them as well.

I remember driving from CS to San Antonio to watch APC in college in 2001.

It was a converted grocery store.. weirdest venue ever. It had columns like right in the middle of the crowd in front of the stage.

That was a long drive back that night.. but not as long as Houston to san antonio and back on a work night in 2009 for metallica

Worth it for Metallica. The last time i remember attempting something similar was for Radiohead on their In Rainbows tour, and I still had to get a room on the way back from Dallas.

APC, Puscifer, and Primus...missed out on decent tickets when they went on sale but trying to pick some up if wife and I can make the show

Was that the one that was in the Live Oak "Convention Center"? I vaguely remember hearing about that and wondered how the hell they booked a band like that.

Didn't realize they were doing more Sessanta dates.

Radiohead is planning another tour. First tip was they formed a new LLC which they always do before a new tour or album. Not sure if it will be Europe only or US too. Good potential for another album I would assume. They like to play new material during tours so will know more then.

Yep...don't remember when they announced, but I happened to see the dates around the time tickets went on sale. The SA show is at Freeman Coliseum, which is a dump, but none of the seats are terribly far from the stage.

Pretty sure i saw Weezer and Tenacious D at Freeman way back when. I skipped the Sessanta tour here last year since I preferred to see APC and Puscifer as sole headliners, and I probably missed a great show regardless.

I was at this show. Circa 2008 if I recall at Southside Ballroom and it was great. Unfortunately have schedule conflicts preventing me from seeing any of the Texas dates this go around.

I was listening to the Lithium station on Sirius the other day and the host Grant Random said it was the best show he saw all of last year for whatever that's worth.

Commented on it being great in having the acts consistently rotate with little to no interruptions for stage breakdown/set up etc.

Caught a jazz group called The Bad Plus last night in Phoenix. Fantastic show for those who like progressive jazz. The current lineup includes Ben Monder on guitar and Chris Speed on sax, plus founders Reid Anderson on bass and Dave King on drums. Monder & Speed blended well, played off each other, and traded leads and support for the whole show.

Next up for me is Kraftwerk on 4/14.

quick estimation, I've been to 300-400 shows in adulthood.

I have forgotten to go to a concert precisely once.
It was ghost and they were playing Loveland and then Colorado Springs consecutive nights. I'm about half way between those too so decided to do springs (since I wouldn't have to drive through Denver)

Straight up forgot to go and realized it the next am.
Had I decided to go to loveland show, I could have realized my mistake and just picked up a ticket to springs the next night!

Okay...I'm way out of touch with the Austin venues. Had no idea that Emo's moved out of downtown a decade(?) ago?! I was confused how Awolnation was going to fit in that place.

Now that I'm caught up, the "new" Emo's venue still looks small, and to see Awolnation in that place for $42 seems like a steal. But a Monday night coming from out of town is a hard sell for olds like me...

I'm seeing them in Denver at the summit.. capacity 900!

I don't know why aren't playing much bigger places.. but I certainly prefer seeing them in a smaller setting.

Meanwhile ghost is doing arenas and sleep token just sold out US tour in arenas in minutes.. none of that makes sense to me when looking at Spotify streams monthly;
Awol - 4.8m
Ghost 8.3m
Sleep token 5.9m
