Family dropped her off at home Saturday night. She didn't show up for church Sunday, and someone called her family to check on her. Family went to the house and started looked for her, then called police. Latest I've seen is that police say it looks like she didn't leave willingly, and they're not ruling out that this was to target Guthrie.

There are many trailheads into the catalina mountains just a mile north of her street. Assuming she is there, Lots of rough terrain and desert brush to cover.

I hope this woman is found safe, sound, and returns to her family to live out her days in peace. FULL STOP.

If it turns out that foul play is involved (which the proper authorities are not ruling out) then I hope the guilty is found and brought swiftly to justice. If that person was/is not supposed to be legally in this country, then perhaps this case along with the many others like it, will be the catalyst to bring the necessary change. Sadly all to often the good decisions and policies are written in the blood of others.

Some dumb meth heads find out the elderly mother of a wealthy TV personality lives in town and when they are getting hopped up one of them comes up with the brilliant idea to kidnap for ransom. Joe was an NBC guy. You will enjoy this nugget… he occasionally guest hosted for Johnny Carson including the one and only time The Beatles played live. That was before my time but I remember him as an old timer that would pop on the Today show during the World Series and such.

Bring up a good point about S American gangs and kidnapping. Used to be very common and imagine it still is. I travelled down to Brazil, Argentina and Mexico for a well known global company. Not much in way of security until
You got to Brazil (and places like Colombia), but in my role I dealt with the head of security out of the UK and we had lots of discussions corporate kidnappings. Thats one angle.

Another one was brought up by one of the LEO pundits Fox. Looking in to the caretakers and the associates / family of the caretakers. That seems more likely but given it's been a couple days thats seems less so.

I feel sorry for the Guthries as I would for anyone, including lying lib lizards. But I do hope even if the facts are convenient that they are dealt with honestly.

A good percentage of people know of him, a lot couldn't pick him out of a lineup compared to other sports stars. I think part of this is her tie to national media. It gets more coverage because she is one of them.

As someone who has an elderly parent that lives alone but is still pretty self sufficient, the thought of her getting ripped from her house is pretty horrifying.

The Guthrie house was reported to be fully staffed and had some live in help, grounds keepers and such were day work only, but the housekeeper and I believe one other were live in, so people saying she lived alone doesn't stack up.
