Option B: change the international policy.

Of course Lina says that international travel is allowed outside of extraordinary purposes. She's mudding the waters. Butting heads with Briones'.

My sound was low and I missed that. They shelved item 16 until she collects herself.
Her routine of storming out of publicly televised meetings when she doesn't get what she wants is incredibly unprofessional and ought to be disqualifying for her to continue on in the job. But Harris County voters will go back to the polls again and pull the straight D ticket next time without fail.

I don't think there is a mechanism for impeachment or recall vote, but they can be removed from their position by a district judge following a trial for misconduct if I am reading the statute right. Somebody else probably knows the process better than I do.

Local government coverage has shrunk so much in the last 10-15 years, across all platforms, that there aren't many if any county government beat reporters anymore who have the time or knowledge to look for problems in county government.

Browsing X (FORMERLY KNOWN AS TWITTER), it does look like KTRH radio is paying attention again, thanks to Michael Berry I'm sure:



But it's still a contrast from the days when they had full time reporters.

And Holly Hasen w/ The Texan; a lot of good independent folks have been paying more attention to the county.

I was just replying to the question about "the press" not holding Lina more accountable, and the simple fact that traditional news outlets drastically cut their local government coverage over the years. There simply aren't many local gov't beat reporters anymore, and I don't know that any of them even staff City Hall or Harris County bureaus anymore.

*and I shouldn't leave out or our own AlaskanAg for monitoring court sessions to keep us up to date.

I can't believe the heights Harvard veteran lawyer mom didn't win last time around. I thought she was a good candidate, especially against doras utter incompetence. Shows you how strong the Dem machine is and how loyal and ******ed most voters are.
