If this turns out to be true, this probably will mean we sell Garnacho (assuming there are 50M+ bids still; hard to turn that much money down in profit for a squad player, which you would imagine Cunha would make Garnacho)
The move seems to make a lot of sense. 62m for a 26 yr old who should be able to step into Amorim's system from Day 1 seems reasonable. Risk of course is that almost everyone seems to get worse when they join United and this guy hasn't played under anything even somewhat close to the United spotlight.
I also wonder what this means for Mainoo. He's versatile but arguably attacking mid is his best position. Could argue that Bruno, Zirkzee, Mount, Cunha, Garnacho, and Mainoo would all occupy the same position and that 2 of them need to go to balance the squad and get some central midfield (and other) reinforcements.
Mainoo could also sit in central midfield but I think he only works there with a player we don't currently have on the roster.

Honestly this season is worse than anything I could imagine for this club.
Banks is just random on a whistle. He correctly gave that foul on Yoro. But the first two times that exact same thing happened at the other end of the field in the same open space he ignored it.

The Adams tackle was 10 times worse. Just be consistent.
I didn't see the Adam's tackle but that was a red. Also lol at Iraola trying to make the sub for the player before VAR could look at it.

This whole season is just weird. Hiring Amorim and his drastically different tactics was always a huge short term risk and it hasn't paid off. The EL has become both super important and completely irrelevant.
Super important obviously for the financial implications and adding a trophy at a time when the club could really use one. Irrelevant in that I don't think his job is tied to it all. If he wins it buys him no time. If he loses it doesn't increase his odds of getting fired. He'll be judged solely on league form before Xmas regardless of what happens in the EL.

I think he has to have one summer regardless of what happens. EL matters not for his job, but should give him more funds to spend this summer if he can guarantee CL play next season.
I am not sure he is the answer, but I do t want them to change course now. Get a summer to get a new keeper and a scorer or two, get healthy and let's see where we are at with him next year.

DeLigt and Amad are both back training with the squad. They will have 0 match fitness but is they can play a sub roll the last 20 minutes that would be a big boost.
Interestingly, Amorim brought a lot of youth players to Bilbao because they are training in Bilbao on Friday for the Sunday match against Brentford. I'm guessing that the bench could be a sign of who might start on Sunday.
I can't express how bad we are at playing out of the back. We give it away to an attacking player in good position half of the time.

Yoro is a hot mess. He's can't pass out of pressure and he's getting eaten up dropping back because he's not fast enough. He's either turning it over directly under pressure or passing it to Dorgu and he's not really in space and is immediately pressured.
I guess persistent infringement isn't real. Bilbao has multiple players just fouling at will.
