I think Kessler instantly jumps to near the top of the list of most overpaid guys in the league.

The Lakers are paying 32.5 million a year for a guy that puts up 11pts/12rebs a game. His rim protection and defense is above average, but not elite. He also has had trouble staying healthy.

If you gave me a choice between Kessler, Time Lord and Mitchell Robinson... Kessler would be my 3rd choice before I even considered the difference in cost, but now imagine that you have to pay 3 times as much per year for Kessler AND give up two unprotected 1st round picks and the insanity of the deal really emerges.

I don't think so. But I do think he replaces Keldon's minutes. Will be interesting if we try to move Keldon before the deadline. With Harris and an increased role from CB, I just don't see where the minutes come from.

Love this signing and the terms of the deal, we have a very complete roster now. 11 guys that have already proven they contribute to an NBA rotation plus 2 first round draft picks that could work their way in. Give those last spots to DJG types please and don't fill the end of our bench with corpses like Biyombo and I will be ecstatic with the offseason.

I think he or Julian start at the 4 and it makes us a lot more versatile in what we can do. Agree it probably is a net reduction in KJ minutes, Julian leans a little more into the 2-3 minutes, which bolsters our depth for our guards which is huge

I'm dumbfounded by the Laker's front office decisions this offseason. They have no tradeable 1st round picks for the NEXT 7 YEARS!!!

I think we need Julian's shooting in the starting lineup and in general. He opens up the court so much for Victor. If his minutes do decrease, they won't be by much. I think Harris in the starting lineup is a bit clunky.

Tobias and Julian are pretty much neck and neck as shooters, but Tobias is a better passer and Tobias is better at the top of the arc than Julian.

Only guys I'm confident will get over 27mpg are Wemby, Devin and the 3 guards.

Yeah Tobias in 15 years is .366% three pt shooter.

Julian in last 3 years in .373% three pt shooter.

Tobias has had multiple seasons over 40% from three. Julian has yet to shoot better than 38%.

I don't necessarily disagree with him, not the cash in on the picks part. But he's a little redundant and will make us marginally better imo. Beefs up our depth, which was needed for sure.

Not sure why everyone thinks we have all these picks to cash in. We have one first rounder in every draft moving forward and no extras. It's like they see we have all these swaps and assume we are swimming in picks when in reality there's only one pick to be made.

I don't think he's that redundant. I think Rui would have been more redundant.

Harris is 6-8/9 and 225. He rebounds, can play with his back to the basket and exploit mismatches. He's coming off averaging 18/7 in the playoffs for Detroit and scored in double digits in 12 out of their 14 games.

The age is definitely a concern but he definitely balances out this roster and adds a different element to the offense.

Not a great post by KOC. At least name alternatives you like more. We were effectively six deep in the playoffs. Getting a contributor with at least some shot creation ability is a nice add on a team-friendly two (2) year deal.

The big thing that Tobias brings is that he's a really great post up player in addition to his shooting. Like >80th percentile.

In the Finals, Jalen Brunson guarded Julian double the possessions he guarded anyone else. Julian averaged just 9.7 points per 75 possessions, has 2FTA and 4 turnovers. EFG was just 47%. Spurs could not take advantage of that mismatch because Julian is not a real PF.

Tobias changes that because he's a real PF that knows how to use his size.

In the last three years, Brunson only guarded Tobias on 36 possessions and Tobias has a 63% TS, shot 8.4FT/75 and has 23.2 points/75. Brunson didn't cause a single turnover in three years.

Teams took advantage of Julian on both ends of the court and that was a huge advantage for the Knicks over us.

They can't do that against Tobias. He's exactly the type of player we needed
