Cameron Young is the youngest player(28) on this team full of late 20's and 30's guys who are not good in team formats. What we need is a new crop of badass young guys to come up and start taking Ryder Cup spots. Maybe some younger, hungrier players would give this team a boost.

Xander/Cantlay was an easy choice this morning. Didn't work out.
I'm not saying all 8 are playing well. But play the guys who are playing better of late. Schauffele, Cantlay, and Morikawa have not been. Spaun, Griffin, and Young have been. Play them. Burns is ehh but at least he can putt. He's the best putter in the world right now.

Looks like it would be Maverick on the team and Xander off in my scenario - unless Keegan took himself. So basically not a big change. I guess it comes down to our guys being a bunch of individuals and not team players. And the Euros being clutch and our guys being milk toast

It's absolutely hindsight to say they shouldn't have gone out this morning.
You could question the decision going into yesterday. That the group is past their prime . But a once they won yesterday, we were always going to run it back today. It was never in question. Any captain would have

Yes. But that's not my point. Griffin has been good this year and of late. Give him more chances than Schauffele, Morikawa, and Cantlay who haven't been. Chances are Griffen plays well because that's what he's been doing.
Would agree with that. Keegan and Maverick on this team over Schauffele right now and morikawa could make a difference.
Culture. Europe since Seve has fostered a culture of buying in. US occasionally gets up for this but for the most part just doesn't care as much and it shows in how they play

So easy to second guess in hindsight. I would have liked to see JJ out there though. Guy is having the season of his life and was throwing darts yesterday.

I get it. I just don't agree with it. We need to give ourselves the best chance to win over three days. That means playing the guys who are playing the best right now as much as possible. Not hoping some of the more experienced guys will find form in the moment that they haven't had in months.
Golf is such a hot/cold game. Play the guys who are hot as much as you can. Chances are they will show that good form.

I'm not talking about age being a limiting factor. I think it's mental. The current crop of US Ryder Cup veterans have, for the most part, known nothing but losing to the Euro's(outside of Whistling Straits). My point was that getting some badass young guns in there with a fresh and hungry mindset could possibly give the team a boost.

Yes, you do. Play the guys who are hot right now. Don't hope the guys who are struggling will find it. Give the guys who are playing best the most opportunities. It's as simple as that. I wouldn't have started Xander/Patrick yesterday either.
