Has something changed since the MLB combine that's leading analysts to think Prager, Lamkin, Patton, and Kent will come back?

Doubt they know what they are talking about. Patton did not come here to play 2 years and Lamkins stock is high as it's been. I also sure hope Hacopian isn't our SS without some major improvements with the leather.

Not saying I disagree with you at all, but I highly doubt he committed here without us promising him that spot.

If we flatly promised him the position then our staff is incompetent and learned nothing. He would have been our worst defender this year and we were terrible in the infield.

I don't think that would be considered incompetent. If you want to get quality players, you have to offer them what they want. I also doubt that if he starts playing really badly, they would be required to keep him at short or in the lineup. But for now, he's our starting shortstop.

Pretty sure it's a typical part of the offer to high end portal recruits, but that's just my understanding of the situation. Again, not disagreeing with anything you wrote though.

Also, he said the whole reason he committed here is because Coach P showed him a video montage of all his fielding errors and analyzed them step-by-step -- the only place he visited where that happened. Carter Karels wrote an article about it.

This. It's one thing to promise him SS with no plan, but if we're the only school saying "we want you at SS and here's how we're going to make you good at it" that's different.

Both pitchers. Both were thought to be pretty big recruiting losses when they flipped. Neither pitched much this year but interesting they'd be leaving after only one season.

I'm excited for the commitment, even if we have to sweat out the draft. I'm encouraged our lineup will rebound.
