That's not what Kendall said. Kendall mentioned that he thinks Sdao is likely a reliever in the Bigs and therefore he doesn't agree with the thought that Sdao will be drafted early and for a lot of money.


We heard the same things. Right now Sdao is viewed as a reliever in the mlb. If he wanted to be seen as a front line starter he needed to come back and prove it to be drafted in the top rounds. That is where starters get drafted. Sdao wants to be drafted in the first two rounds and Kendall said relievers don't get drafted there.

Well if you want to play that game, she wanted to get her son the resources and knowledge to get what he wanted (transferring back to A&M). Travis got what he wanted and in part his mother got what she wanted.

It's based on the JUCO ruling that was made in relation to Diego Pavia where JUCO years don't actually count against you anymore.

I would argue that Chestnut brings more to the table and can play infield and outfield.

And since we lost a likely transfer this will be good.

Huge fan of Chestnut as a person and utility/situational player, but I'm not sure how I feel about him being an everyday regular in the lineup.

He was an everyday regular on a team that was one game away from winning it all. I would absolutely support him starting. Besides, his speed on the base paths is a huge plus, and he's older and more mature than probably everybody else on the team.

I don't think Chestnut will be an everyday starter, but he'll be one hell of an asset off the bench or if we have an injury. Royo has 2nd base locked down (at least to start the season), and my hope is one of the transfers or a freshman take the 3rd OF spot.

He had the third best OBP on the team in 2024 behind two first round draft chioces in Jace and Braden

i think chestnut at 2ndโ€ฆ then someone in OF with more popโ€ฆ don't think you could have tnut and kiel in OF, royo 2nd etc.. little to no power there

If those three can consistently get on base and play good defense, I'd honestly be fine with them combining for under 5 home runs. The biggest thing we missed this past year was guys consistently getting on base. Having a lot of pop is great, but you can win a lot of games without it if you can field well and put the ball in play.

This isn't the majors where you need power production from certain positions.

If you can get two speed guys with decent OBP in the lineup I don't care if they play in the infield or outfield. If that means Kiel and Chestnut play the outfield or Chestnut in the infield I don't care.
I want the best hitting line up on the field. Last year injuries and slumps never made it easy to figure out any of those things
The last year Chestnut played for us he was 18 of 19 in SB
I will take that production and a high OBP and find a spot for him.
