I'm wondering if this juco guy is also planned for a back of the bullpen type role. His numbers last season (juco I know) really stand out - 21 IP, 12 H, 40 K and 4 BBs. Good for a whip of 0.75.

Nice stats but his K rate is low. PG Velo is 91 so curious about the stuff. Most of his runs came against the better teams UTSA and ECU. Anyone know if this guy has legitimate shot at closer. After we were sold Cunningham last year I want to see some something other than numbers on sheet.

So tired of this blaming others for hyping players- be it football or baseball. Nobody sold you anything but yourself. Take responsibility. You'll feel better.

Cunningham was a big get in the portal last year and was one of the most sought after relief pitchers in the country. He didn't contribute this year because his velo was down a ton apparently for whatever reason. But he was definitely hyped up. Unfortunate it hasn't worked out thus far.

In the offseason a lot of people including myself figured he'd be one of our high leverage guys like he was at UW with Kelly. Brauny mentioned him in almost every fall ball write up as someone to watch for, and factoring in his 2024 season a lot of people hyped him up to be a big piece of the bullpen puzzle.

You even started a thread about him and other UW players entering the portal. Also I'm not a psycho, I just typed in "Grant Cunningham TexAgs" in google to try and find the preseason articles and this thread popped up lol

96 with a hammer. Remeber we were talking about him taking over for Aschenbeck. Minute Miad tourny he was 88 with a cement mixer. Maybe they use the metric system in the Pac 12.

If I remember correctly, he was throwing 85-88 during the fall scrimmages. They thought he had an arm injury - which is usually the case when there's a big drop in velo.
