$50 is a deal. Bank of America Stadium wanted $80 for Metallica. I took the light rail.

Yikes! $50 to park. Such a racket. Taking my 13 yr old guitar playing son. Can't wait!

Taking my daughter to Tyler Childers tomorrow night. We got lawn seats and I am kind of regretting it no because of the heat but also the need to get there early to get a decent spot.

That's wrong on so many levels. Cost of living is getting ridiculous enough on its own, then comes the opportunists that gouge people intentionally. And yes, I get the supply/demand principle and people have choices. But they always don't and this is taking advantage of them. Like the $10 for a bottles water at an outdoor event. Asinine.

I'm going, too. Parking spots on the link from the Cynthia Woods website go from $37 to $155, with the average price probably around $60.

Damn…. $80 to park

Denver rtd parking lot by my house $0
Rail to stadium $5.50 round trip.

The ride is about 35-40 minutes, but that would beat traffic at that time of day and about tie the way home since it's 20 minutes just to get out of parking lot.

Most of the pavilion parking is free. Only the gold lot is paid parking

Yeah I usually arrive a few hours early for Woodlands shows, go to the Goose's Acre on the riverwalk and have cheaper drinks than inside and excellent food. There is always plenty of free parking and pretty close at those times.

Riva Row isn't closed off until 6 or so usually so I've parked there before. Otherwise I get one of the free spots. The garage is a royal pain to exit after the shows you are better off in a lot. The goose's acre is just south of the gold garage.

Riva Row then enter through South gate is absolutely the best way to go. South entrance usually has a 10th of the the traffic entering than the north gate.

The surface lots are pretty easy in and out. Just remember which lot you're in. Kind of easy to get crossed up going back to your car. The worst part is the bottleneck of people walking over the bridge after the show.

Which I always found weird. The closest entrance to the free lots and pregammers on the waterway is the south entrance so you would think that would be the packed entrance. I guess that goes to show just how many people are actually parking at the mall or market street despite all the signage saying not to.

Thanks, that's very helpful. I just parked at the mall for years and years, but they are suddenly putting "No Event Parking" signs up and have the Mounties patrolling the lot.

Used to do the same.

Leaving from Friendswood about 4:00 and parking in free south lots to try and get there near gate open to get a decent lawn spot.

Speaking of Woodlands just picked up some Row 5 tix for Styx on Friday off Seatgeek for $176 each including fees-- not bad at all! I've seen Styx several times but always enjoy their shows.

Last Friday we went to the Dierks Bentley Broken Branches at Dos Equis in Dallas so we could see Zach Top. I assume he signed onto this tour before blowing up, he played for an hour, blowing through his songs. The whole crowd was singing every song. I'm not sure that could be said for Dierks' set. I hope I get to see Zach as a headliner in the near future.

We didn't leave until about 4:30 but made it there about 6:15 or so. Parked in the yellow lot. The line was long to get in but once we did I went to get a spot while my wife and daughter hit the restroom and got food. I found a perfect spot, dead center, literally second row of the lawn. It was this little patch perfect for our size and I was shocked but everyone said no one was sitting there, so I laid down our blanket. Was settled in about 7:00.

Tyler put on a great show. His voice is so amazing and genuine live. Great set list. I was surprised he didn't play "Feathered Indians". I can't find a set list online but two of the songs that got the biggest reaction were two I had never heard before. I am pretty sure one of them was from his very first album. That is the only one I don't really know at all. I'm not sure what the other song was.

Think I read it's because he wrote it for a woman before his wife and doesn't play it out of respect for her.

I think we go to three shows at the Moody Amphitheater this month starting with the Black Keys this Saturday. The perfect venue in the perfect location for us. We finally found our Liberty Lunch replacement.

I remember going to the last show at Liberty Lunch. It was Toadies with Baboon opening. Toadies had played the night before at Sunken Gardens in San Antonio and I had hooked up Lisa with free passes to Sea World (I was a lifeguard there) and got to go back stage. The next day my friend and I decided to drive to Austin for the Liberty Lunch show. Awesome show!

I still remember vividly Todd/Vaden crowd surfing while screaming the end of "Send You To Heaven" with the guys from Baboon on stage playing extra drums and guitars. "The Beatles and the Stones and the Stones and the Beatles!!!!!" That was peak Toadies to me, when they were still playing songs from the abandoned Feeler era, HB/SA songs, Tornado, etc.

Baboon also brought out a device they called the room evacuator that was this weird box with switches that made noise and feedback. They had just released their "We Sing And Play" EP and we listened to that the entire ride home.

Good times!!!

In the mid-late 1990s, Liberty Lunch was awesome.

Coolest show I saw there was when Reverend Horton Heat came out and played the new Space Heater album for 1 hour straight before they stopped and let everybody know the reason nobody knew any of the songs was because they were from the unreleased album.

Thanks. I moved back to Texas not quite 2 years ago and I'm new to NRG so I appreciate the heads up.
I'll have to make sure my Aggie Metallica buddies are ready to electronically transfer money around (Zelle, CashApp, etc.).

Tyler is weird about what he decides to play. That may be true about the woman thing but he had previously said that he didn't play Jersey Giant because it was "before his Lady May" but now he has started playing it.

Styx, Kevin Cronin, and Don Felder at The Woodlands was a fun time, even though Kevin Cronin needed *significant* help on vocals. He has great stage presence, though.

The biggest surprise was Don Felder. He did a great set of mostly Eagles songs and sounded better than the current iteration of the Eagles on many of the songs. Also enjoyed hearing him perform "Heavy Metal", such an underrated song.

Styx always puts on a show. Tommy Shaw is still amazing and Lawrence Gowan cracks me up with his hip thrusts all over the keyboards.
