REPORT: Karmelo Anthony Trial Day Four

Apparently, if you violate a judge's order and cut in front of others who were in line 30 minutes before you, you will be REWARDED with access to a courtroom that only allows 27 members of the public.

According to Judge Roach's order, there is a curfew from 11pm to 6am every day for the duration of the trial. The order applies to the ENTIRE Collin County Courthouse campus, including parking lots, sidewalks, green spaces, and any other designated areas.

I have followed this order every day, arriving right at 6am as required by the curfew.

This morning, the first day of opening statements, I arrived at 6am as usual. There were already 2025 people lined up at the front door. I immediately got in line. Many of them were not secretive about what time they had arrived, and some said they had been there closer to 5am, which is a VIOLATION of the judge's order.

As I stood there, multiple people arrived and cut directly in front of me. And yes, I will make it clear that they were Karmelo Anthony supporters.

I wish I had said something. But I have done my best to maintain the peace so far, even with the disparaging comments that have been made and the constant line-cutting over the past few days.

I am fully fed up today. The first 27 were selected, and the cut off was 2 people in front of me. If there had not been violations or line cutters, I would be in the courtroom right now.

I understand that Judge Roach runs a tight ship, but he cannot control what he does not know is happening.

The family was brought in. Then the media. Then about a dozen individuals who claimed to be "family members of the Anthony's," including Kevin Hayes, Karmelo Anthony's uncle, who initially spread false rumors that Karmelo had been jumped and that his cell phone had been smashed.

THEN, 27 members of the public were given passes for the remainder of the day.

Several of those individuals deserve to be in the courtroom. But the scales were tipped in favor of Anthony supporters because they cut in line and felt "entitled" to those positions.

I'm not going to hold back about their behavior any longer.

I just don't understand what defense there is for this??? Is the defense just trying to justify the murderer's actions in order to get his jail sentence reduced? I've been trying not to pay too much attention to this because it pisses me off where I have to go try annd calm myself down. Between this and the poor kid who was murdered in England it is just too much.

Edit: I mean, look at the POS people supporting the murderer b/c he is the same skin color as them.

One of my favorite dad bits is to ask the young ones "What is the purpose of soup?" The correct answer is "To flavor the crackers".

We love crackers. Count me among those who fail to be insulted with the term "cracker" lol

Years of white people bending over backwards to appease these folks has given some of them arrogance and entitlement attitude, and they know that if there is any push back, they can holler victim. They are the bullies. These folks live in one of the most affluent counties in Texas, yet they want to be victims- it's easy . Ain't anybody done sheet to those people.

Fox News is doing an awful job at covering Karmelo Anthony's murder trial.

They missed all the key points in the DA's opening statement.

HERE ARE THE FACTS THEY MISSED:

Anthony tossed the knife he used to fatally stabbed Metcalf withafter stabbing him.

Anthony tried blending into the crowd after the stabbing.

He brought a flip knife to the track meet, even though it was prohibited.

The jury has 5 minorities on itit's just not the kind the defense likes.

SIDE NOTE:

This legal expert has no idea what he's talking about.

John Yoo doesn't even know what sport these guys were playing.

Please save your parents from this awful coverage.

Yes... Per google

Karmelo Anthony is represented by a court-appointed attorney. Following the withdrawal of his previously retained private counsel, his family submitted an indigent packet to the Collin County Court, which granted him indigent status

For a first degree murder charge, you need to spend minimum 50k. The more high profile 1st degree murder charges can go as high a million dollars. Think the family is hoping that the court appointed screws the pooch and can the case overturned on appeals.

So the taxpayers are funding his attorney while his parents drive their escalade home to their $900k home in a gated community? That family is pure class.

And the parents are going to turn this into one giant payday. When their son gets found guilty - whether it be first-degree murder or manslaughter or whatever - they will use that to get book deals, do the podcast circuit, and make guest appearances to talk about how overtly racist America is and their son doing hard time is evidence of that. Meanwhile, that son will be rotting away in a prison where he is in fear of getting the crap kicked out of him on a daily basis. Any why? Because his parents raised him to think he is a victim in this world and that his actions should not have any consequences; that being and looking tough is the most important thing. That getting "dissed" is completely unacceptable and deserving of any retaliatory action you want to take.

Karmelo has two younger brothers and one younger sister. What kind of future do you think they are going to have after they see all this go down and the response of their family?

Any chance of a plea before this wraps up? I could see Metcalf's family being amicable to something like 20 years, with a minimum 70% served before being up for parole. Better than he deserves, but can be sold as he can be out before 35 and still have a life.

They've definitely taken the high road in all of this, and the defense betting on jury nullification is a big risk.

IIRC, Toby Shook and Bill Wirskye (no idea how it's spelled, but he's the prosecutor in this case) represented the state together in the trial of that guy who killed the DA, DA's wife, and ADA in Kaufman County a while back. They were brought in as special prosecutors.

I didn't realize Shook was Anthony's defense attorney. That's pretty shocking…especially already knowing the ridiculous defense he will be mounting.

Last I saw, prosecution had 35 witnesses on their list. Doesn't mean they will end up calling all of them. Foundational witnesses for the admissibility of evidence won't take long. But the eyewitnesses that are called will be cross examined to a fuller extent, which does take time.

Five days, maybe less for the state's case. Three or less for the defense is my prediction.

There is always the small chance that a plea deal is reached mid trial and by small I mean extremely small. Would be shocked if that happens.
