Seems important for the defense to find that out before calling him as a witness. Yikes

I think this comment was made in inference after a witness terrified KA said, "he's not gonna die" when he was being detained before the cops got him. Or maybe it's was the comment to the cop that detained him.
Anyone with a functioning brain and an IQ above the age to drive should know if you thrust a 5" knife into someone's chest bad things are happening for the recipient.
The state rested this afternoon after calling 21 witnesses. It was rather shocking to many in the courtroom.

The defense then made a motion for a directed verdict. They stated that the prosecution did not meet their burden of proof. It was denied by the judge.
The defense…

The defense put a witness on the stand who admitted during cross-examination that he thinks Karmelo was in the wrong and provoked the situation. This was the last witness of the day.

Biggest takeaways from the Karmelo Anthony murder trial today:
The state rested its case after calling 21 witnesses.
At the center of the prosecution's case are the students who were under the team tent and witnessed the confrontation unfold. One witness testified that Metcalf asked Anthony to leave the tent about 15 times before the stabbing.
An 18-year-old witness who knew both Anthony and Metcalf, and said he "dabbed" Anthony under the tent, took the stand. He testified that he thought it was weird Anthony was there because "teams are supposed to be at their own tent." He said Anthony responded, "You're not going to move me. You're a b*tch," and "Touch me and find out."
The witness described Metcalf giving Anthony a "soft shove." He testified that Anthony then reached into his backpack, pulled out the 5-inch folding knife, and stabbed Metcalf in the chest.
Several students were asked whether they believed the stabbing was self-defense and answered no. Many testified they did not expect violence because it was a high school track meet

Earlier today, the prosecutor put several witnesses on the stand and one said Karmelo provoked them and called them all "*******."
You also keep mentioning in your reports that the jury doesn't have a black jurorbut it has 5 minorities and the black potential jurors admitted they couldn't be impartial and that's why they were not put on the jury.
These facts matter.

They'll need to tread carefully or they'll piss off the moderate suburban wife vote.
I wonder how many white liberal soccer moms are willing to sacrifice for the cause, a popular All American boy and (likely) successful member of society - who could have easily been THEIR son. This will be a struggle for many of these gals I'd assume.
Poor black victim vs one of their own. In a right world, they would ponder their role in all of this.
(Disclaimer: I was not blessed with children of my own. Nor do I have nieces nor nephews as both of my siblings died without any children.)
Mothers are mothers first, usually. Losing a child is a tragedy. So I don't buy into the race aspect of that calculus.
Well.... This murderers mom spent 600k+ on useless **** and gave her kid a court appointed attorney. Apparently hes only good for drawing donation money from idiots or tv news crews to spout the typical black talking points again and again that ol'whitey is out to get them. Liberal white women sacrifice their kids for their own publicity every day, so the moms will be moms doesn't fly. Just look at all the trannny kids and even babies that they are sure want to be mutilated already while in their care.
If I were a betting man, I'd wager his mom, most of his family, close and extended, are the same sort of trash the murderer is. Likely have an entitlement attitude and are not particularly bright.
Where do you think he learned it from?

Does anybody know if this really happened?
"So today the defense has argued that Austin impaled himself on the blade.
I wish I was kidding but...no.
1 in 1000 chance Austin fell on the blade!
Wirskye showed Ventura a replica blade of the one used in the stabbing, and asked if that knife was capable of making the wound on Austin. Ventura said it was. She said the official cause of death was ruled as homicide.
On cross-examination, Ventura explained that the penetration depth of the knife was about 2.5 inches. The total length of the knife was about 3.5 inches.
The defense briefly questioned Ventura about whether it was possible for Austin to have impaled himself on Karmelo's knife when he pushed Karmelo.
On redirect, Ventura explained that this impaling scenario is one in a thousand, and that because the depth of the wound is shorter than its length, it is unlikely."

It's not a court-appointed attorney. Mike Howard and Toby Shook are his attorneys.
They filed for a public defender due to not having funds left I thought?
I'm pretty sure that was another lie but am willing to be wrong. I know they aren't public defenders but whether or not the public is/can be forced to pay for them, I do not know.
His attorneys are actually pretty good. In fact, interestingly enough, Mike Howard and Bill Worsky prosecuted a death penalty case together.
