While I do not disagree, you have to first ask yourself what is the ratio of paid actors versus organic protestors? I have a very hard time believing there are more organic protestors than paid actors. This seems too well orchestrated.

I don't know how many. But that goes to show they were so small and insignificant that we don't even hear about them.

For instance last night. Someone posted a tweet that the Austin protest was getting "violent." I turned on the news and a live feed downtown and nothing at all was happening

Oh gee whiz - my question was a bit rhetorical.

For the blissfully unaware who might follow Auntie Maxine's notion to "not believe your lyin' eyes," or for those who are buying the bromide that this is limited to a couple of tiny Google Maps specks in southern California:

I have done hours of exhaustive research using that other Google thing, and lo and behold it is our good friends at NBC who can help shed some light on this conundrum (dateline today).

Anti-ICE protests held coast to coast after L.A. unrest as national movement grows

Quote:

NBC News counted at least 25 rallies and demonstrations coast to coast.

Quote:

The Daily Texan reported that some 500 gathered at the Texas Capitol on Monday, while hundreds gathered in San Antonio, according to Spectrum News 1.

Abbott, referring to the deployment of National Guard troops to L.A., said on X that "an organized assault has been waged against federal law enforcement officials."

Rallies and demonstrations also took place in Charlotte, Atlanta, Louisville, Memphis, Chicago, Detroit and Oklahoma City.

So basically from sea to shining sea.

I think only the willfully ignorant believe that this is limited to a little hamlet on the West Coast.

Governor Abbot is right - this is an organized and orchestrated assault.
Can't wait to see the light of truth shine on the organizations that are funding these little gatherings of "a bunch of people having fun watching cars burn." (thank you ABC in L.A.)

So what do we do?
Ignore the lawlessness like we did during the Summer of Love?
As with most illegal actions, until there is a negative consequence, it will grow and spread.

These protests are like mold - they will indeed to grow and spread beyond the numerous locations that are already falling prey.
The people overwhelmingly elected President Trump to clean this up.

Protests in OKC yesterday? Must've been really small because there is absolutely no news stories about it on any of the local news sites. I didn't see any stories on the news about it yesterday either. That stuff doesn't fly here. I remember the attempt at BLM protests summer of 2020 got quashed real quick.

Wife and I have been discussing this back and forth as the story continues to develop.

The protestors and rioters see themselves as fighting against tyranny and protecting vulnerable classes of people, but clearly their mindset has only gone so far.

When you read interviews from/about IRA members, they knew from the beginning that they were likely going to die as a result of their involvement. That same level of clarity is not present with these so-called "activists".

When you start throwing chunks of concrete at LEOs from above a bridge, it is an expected response for them to use live rounds. This will not begin to die down until there are actually bodies lying in the street and the "hehe we're such cool and badass activists fighting against the fascists" face the reality that they're putting their lives on the line for this.

And really to what end? Do they think they'll be able to stop ICE? That immigration regulation and deportations will end? This has not been thought out whatsoever.

Hate to tell you this, but you & your wife are overthinking it. These are nothing but paid tyrants recruited my Soros's minions of chaos and paid to do cause destruction. I've seen videos where bricks and other pallets of destructive materials are hidden near abandon buildings, same as in 2020 with BLM. These people are the ilk of society and live off of welfare and see a way to earn extra income outside of their welfare check.

And if any of them do happen to get arrested they'll be caught & released by the liberal Soros backed judges and/or their bail will be taken care of.

Random tweet is seen as intel. The Marines defensive posture after random tweet just increased 10-fold.
Are you suggesting that the Marines were not prepared to defend to the maximum level until this tweet of intel caused them to ramp up their defensive posture? I want to make sure that I understand the level of defense on day to day activities.
That's not what I am suggesting. But knowing Marines like I do, some were definitely smoking and joking and not taking this as a serious threat.

There is not tyranny involved with the current enforcement of deporting illegals.

Tyranny happened during Biden's watch with:
  • COVID mandates
  • Targeting of Parents
  • Targeting of Catholics
  • Treatment of J6 protestors

I'm sure others can add to the list of tyrannical actions under Biden's administration

These people are not vulnerable classes of people, they are illegals and don't belong in our country. If they want to come to the country, do it legally and there is nothing to worry about. I never worried about being deported because I had a green card before I ever set foot on US soil.

Really sad to see for these small business owners. I pray they had good insurance. But hey, Maxine Waters says don't believe your eyes, there was no violence in LA.

I hope this blows back on Democrats with a vengeance. They deserve every ounce of scorn, ridicule, and blowback they get.

That's one of the problems with lib thinking (not saying you're a lib) but they figure….these rich business owners have insurance so let them collect thru their insurance companies who are big bad businesses who steal from people anyway.

When does the public wake up and see that these "protesters" are all criminals taking advantage of weak politicians, public sentiment (i.e., a violent, chaotic free-for-all in the name of social justice), and their own self-deception (e.g., fighting against tyranny) to unleash their vices and indulge their depravities?

If you're factoring in every tweet, you're not factoring in any tweet. That's not intel, that's a random tweet.
A tweet that discusses possibles offensive operations against a unit is in fact intel. There is a process.

It is probably in the analysis stage right now to find out if it is in fact a credible threat. I mean I only went to MAGTF Intel School and Counter Intel School, so I have no idea what I am talking about.

It will be seen as a credible threat until it is determined not to be.

Hey somebody randomly tweeted that enemy forces were going to attack Marines tonight in Marjah.
Oh, that's just a random tweet by some brain-dead idiot trying to get us to escalate.

I was military intel and worked in the community for 20 years. I'm sorry that MAGTF didn't teach you about vetting sources before acting upon their info.

You know, the more I think about this, the more I believe that the real solution is just to completely abandon California at the federal level and let Trump tell Newsome, "ok, I'm out of there. You can handle it all since you say you have it under control."

Let the people in California have exactly what they keep voting for. They will never change their minds until they feel the repercussions of their actions.

This got me thinking about the BLM riots. ~ 40 people were murdered by the rioters, including at least one law enforcement officer. Did any law enforcement/national guard use live ammunition in killing a protester?
